Recently my husband and I were driving on a remote country road.  One that I had never been on before.  Through the rolling hills and fields of corn we drove.  In the one valley we passed through, my eye caught this pretty, white wooden roadside stand.   What really caught my attention first, was the buckets of brilliantly colored gladiolas sitting out front.  Sitting on the lawn, under the huge shade tree, was the lady of the home and her children.  They were busy husking corn.  This brought a smile to me, as I instantly had a flash back of the times that I sat with my grandma, under her tree, husking  "thousands"of ears of corn.

I asked the lady if she would mind if I took a few pictures of her stand and flowers?  She said to help myself to any pictures.  Of course, I was thrilled to hear those words.

Generous bouquets for $ 5.00 each.  Big bottles of homemade rootbeer were also on the shelf, for sale.

I smiled as I saw the old, empty Cool Whip container setting on the shelf, with a paper tag stating to put the money in the container:)  What trust these farmers have.

Of course, I had to bring a bouquet home for my kitchen.  Doesn't it look good sitting on the counter?

Gladiolas...$ 1.00 each.  I could not stop looking at them and their vibrant colors and exquisite beauty.

If I remember correctly, both of my grandmas grew gladiolas.  I especially remember my one grandma taking me into her garden to show me her treasured collection of gladiolas.  In fact, I remember in later years, she gave me some of her gladiola bulbs to plant.  I guess I did not have her green thumb:)

On the other side of the driveway, was a huge grape arbor, a greenhouse, and big flower gardens.  What an entrepreneurs these people were.

The laundry hung was strung on the lines from barn to house.

Across the street from the one farm in this valley, was another farm, with mountains on both sides.   What a rich, vertile valley for these farms to operate in.  It was so quiet and so peaceful.  I wanted to just sit and take it all in.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing everyday beauty, through my eyes, with each of you.

Hope you have some of your own everyday beauty to share in, this weekend, and extra time to enjoy it.

Beautiful...the picturesque farm...the flower stand and the bouquets. Gladiolas kind of take me back in time as well...to the gardens of my childhood.

Oh how I love meandering the countryside. Your "find" is fabulous!

We live near the Kent/Puyallup & Orting valleys. Many residents grow flower gardens, and I've noticed more-and-more stands alongside the road offering flowers for sale. What a beautiful way to add to the family's coffers while bedazzling our lives.
