Brothers Head West

Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, miles from the nearest town is an incredibly beautiful guest ranch. My husband's youngest brother is a co-manager of this ranch. He lives with his family in a log house a mile down the road. My husband and his brother paid a visit to their youngest brother this past week. When my husband showed me the pictures that he captured on his small Cool Pix camera, I decided to share them on this blog. The above photo was taken from the lodge of the Ranch looking out towards the guest cabins.

This picture was taken in the very early morning hours as my husband sat on the front porch of his brother and his family's home, facing the Continental Divide".

Here the sun is beginning to rise over the mountains. He said, "it was impossible to capture the beauty and the stillness of the morning."

The three of them headed for the stables, choosing their horses for the ride.

Heading for the hills, so happy for the brief time they could be together.

There just were not words to describe the magnificent views they took in on this clear, sunny day in the Rockies. The Ranch covers 500 acres of forest, meadow and pasture, with crystal clear rivers and lakes located throughout.

What a good looking guy!! I'm sure he is thinking of me back home as he posed for this picture...okay, maybe not.

Headed back to the Ranch after a wonderful three hour ride.

The lodge room is a great place to kick back and relax...

...with homemade chocolate chip cookies and hot coffee available 24/7...

...and meals cooked by creative chefs that you will never forget. He took this picture to show the way they brand their pancakes with the Ranch branded on them.

Standing at the door of my brother-in-law's office, looking down to the comfortable, inviting lodge below. Can you imagine sitting here in the winter with the fire in the fireplace, a hot cup of coffee and a book you've always wanted to read? Dreaming is allowed on Mondays, right?

They attended their nephew's baseball game cheering him on in his memorable homerun.

The few days together went so quickly. They got back on their rented motorcycles to head for the airport, returning home to the world of family, work and their many responsibilities, so thankful that they had some time to spend with their "little" brother on the Ranch.

We did our 2 week holiday travelling 7000 km over the mountains to Sturgis. . .and saw such gorgeous views around every corner. It really seemed to me that I had much better vision on the back of that bike.
I love the rockies. . always have .. always will.

Amazing scenery...and how neat to see it from the back of a horse...or on a bike. What a fun way for brothers to meet.

You have programed your hubby so well! He just knew you'd love a picture of his breakfast...what an amazing hubby you have! I love the scenic pictures he took. Isn't our God so creative? The way He formed the mountains and valleys and colored them with such brilliant hues!

Love you!

P.S. Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my blog! You're a treasured friend!

This looks like a fabulous way for 3 brothers to get together. The scenery is just beautiful. Your brother-in-law has a wonderful setting for his office. I'm not sure I would accomplish much more than dreaming if I worked there.

Is their mom alive? I couldn't help but think how proud she would be...three brothers together. It does this Nonny's heart good to see my adult children together.

I hope you told your husband what a great job he did taking pictures. Mine might have taken those outdoor pictures...but pictures of the branded pancakes??? That is over the top and deserving of a special thanks!!

Do you ever get to go visit the lodge? What a great place for a family reunion!

What a pretty place! I want to go there! I just love seeing where everyone visits and lives and that's one reason I like blogging. I've just been busy working this summer for another realtor to make a little $$ and watching my grandson. THis summer we have had something to go do every other weekend almost and it's not stopping yet. My mind hasn't been able to think BLOG so much and anyway...thanks for stopping by and I hope to keep my blog going too.

Judy Corn Hole is all the rage in the south, I guess. It is similar to horseshoes. You use to tilted boxes with a hole at the top and each team pitches bean bags and tries to hit the hole. The score keeping is also similar to horseshoes. The men like it. Folks can paint their boxes any color, but mascots on them or whatever. Thanks for stopping by.

What a beautiful guest ranch! Mu son lives in Denver and we've been up into the Rockies many times when we've visited. Someday I'd love to stay over in a ranch like this one! The West is such beautiful country.

What a beautiful place to live! Your brother-in-law is very fortunate. Yes, I can imagine drinking coffee by a cozy fire place in the winter and looking at those views. They are incredible ♥
