A simple, fun way to celebrate "Memorial Day". We visited our daughter and son-in-law's home for a cookout.
The yellow swimming pool sat on the driveway, and added so much fun for the little ones. Always ready to lend a helping hand, this guy is happy to help out his older sister.
You can imagine the fun of the evening. Food to be eaten outside, time to swim, swing, and ride their play vehicles...what could be better?
Each of us has our own way of removing corn from the cob:)
"When you finally go back to your hometown, you find it wasn't the old home you missed but your childhood." ~Sam Ewing in National Enquirer
This dessert was a huge hit! It was made by a dear neighbor, and dropped off in the afternoon. Everyone of us were thrilled.
She got the recipe from...allrecipes.com. I printed it for you and me. I add 1 teaspoon whenever I use Cool Whip so I wrote it on the recipe, although I can't imagine anything would make it taste better than it already did. Thank you Sandi for sharing it with us.

Thank you for kindly enduring yet another non-relaxing dinner!!! ;) That paper airplane dad brought sure got a LOT of mileage!!!
Love you!
J.
I love your family and getting to watch their journey. Looks like it was a special time as usual. :)
Oh Judy! My apron arrived yesterday and it is just gorgeous! Your sister did an awesome job. The stitching is perfect and the fabric choices are so cute. I love it! Thank you so much! I plan to use the delicious looking recipe you posted today for our Fourth of July cookout....And for sure I will serve it wearing my cute apron. Thanks so much!
Fun time with such cute little ones. I think that is standard corn-on-the cob technique for little ones. I have seen it in my neck of the woods too :)
I've discovered many an amazing recipe at All Recipes. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of this one. My family are strawberry addicts through-and-through. They'll love this!
The babes tickled me. Nothing like a bare tummy and some outdoor fun to set the world in right order. I need to do that more often (when no one's looking).
Hugs,
Kathleen
I bet you had so much fun w/ your cute grandchildren! Thank you for sharing that recipe - that dessert looks wonderful! (Anything w/ strawberries always catches my eye.)
I have a new chapter in my recipe book. It's called "Judy"!
As always, thank you for sharing.
That looks like the best of summer to me...corn-on-the-cob and fresh strawberry dessert combined with sunshine and family get-togethers!
Looks like a fun day. So nice of your neighbor to drop off the dessert and so nice of you to share the recipe. It looks delicious.
