"True Compassion"

True compassion is always active. I love the story about the four-year-old boy who saw his next-door neighbor, an elderly gentleman, sitting on his porch, weeping after his wife's funeral. Without saying a word, he walked over, climbed up on the man's lap, and just sat there. Later, his mother, who'd been watching out the window, asked him what he said to the old man. The little boy answered, "Nothing; I just helped him cry." That is compassion . Mark Atteberry, "Walking with God on the Road You Never Wanted to Travel"
Right now in life, it feels like there are many people with whom I could sit and cry. Sometimes words are not adequate in expressing one's thoughts, and like this story portrays, they are not always needed.
