A few little jelly beans surrounding a softly lit pink candle, on an old crystal dish, sit on my kitchen counter this evening.
Two older tins that I pulled from my kitchen cupboard, and was ready to get rid of them. But, I got an idea from a few pastel drawer pulls that I found in the dollar bins of the Michael's Store last week.
I asked my husband to drill two holes in the lids of the two tins. He did use two shorter screws than the ones included in the packaged pulls, for these tins.
I spray painted the two colorful tins and lids, white. Then I put the drawer pulls in the drilled hole and turned the screw tight. I added two tags. I did not spray the inside of the tins, as I will put a celephone bag in each one, and fill with cookies or mini muffins. A fun and inexpensive way to give a hostess or anytime gift.
I did see in this enlarged picture, that I need to touch up some of the paint on the tin. When pictures are enlarged like these are, they certainly show every imperfection.
In cleaning out cupboards, I also found this picture of our three daughters at Easter, many years ago.
An old dish and jelly beans, recycled old tins, and a treasured old picture...are just a little something from me tonight.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Judy, those spray painted cans are adorable! I never would have thought of something like that. The recipient of the cookies will be thrilled.
Don't you love to find pictures like that? I do...sometimes it makes me a little sad about how fast time flies.
What a great idea...using the crystal drawer pulls to dress up the painted tins. Now...I need to store that idea for future use!
What a great photo...of your three girls at Easter many years ago!
Beautiful girls. And those tins...you are so talented in your ideas for creating gifts. This is a great idea for the home as well...I am always looking for storage ideas.
What a wonderful idea! But then you are always full of them! Love the picture of the girls...Enjoy your week-end!
Blog surfing and found you :) Beautiful blog. I am sure I will return. I was at Goodwill today, they had so many nice cans. Could not think of a thing to do with them. Now that I read your blog, I might have to go back and get them. I am also inspired to dig out my crystal dish and create a sweet candle arrangement.like yours. A great lift to my spirits on a day that has been difficult for me. Thank you.
The arrangement you created for your kitchen counter is so pretty and looks so nice for the spring season.
I was trying to think what you were planning to do with the tins and was amazed at the beautiful results you achieved! I don't know how you think up so many creative ideas, but I do know that the recipients of these gifts will be very pleased to receive them. Sooo pretty. The tags are pretty too. Do you make them?
The picture of your daughters is so sweet. I think your middle daughter looks like a mini version of you :).
Love your clever gift ideas! And what a great picture of your girls. Do you see glimmers of your grandbabies in their faces?
Dear Happy@Home,
I found the tags in a tablet of tags by the K&Company, at Michaels or ACMoore store. I use them so often, and sometimes use bits of glitter on them.
Yes Lauren, I do see characteristics of each of my grandchildren in our daughter's faces and personalities, and it makes me happy when I do.
Love the tins! Beautiful!
