Rain, rain, rain...on and on.  Has not been this wet around here for a very long time.

The creeks, the rivers, the catch basins, the tiny streams...all overflowing their banks.

Our schools and businesses are closed.  The Red Cross has many shelters open.  Basements that have not seen water for a long time or ever, are getting water.  The rain keeps on coming.

It rained heavy on Monday evening, but the family get together on the big, old porch went on.  The candles were lit, the coffee was poured, and the children found their own entertainment.  They collected plastic cup after plastic cup full of water.  Just in case your mothering caution exists like mine does, the big coffee pot on the left, was not plugged in.

This was the beginning of the rain.  Today it continues on, endlessly.
I think so often of the people in Texas, who would love to see these sights.
They haven't seen rain for so long, and their fires need rain like ours.

My heart is sad for all those who are experiencing flooding today.
As I sit here writing this post, the heavy rain continues.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  If you are from one of the states that are so dry now, I wish I could share this with you.

Oh how I'd love to see some rain here too in California...soo hot this week. But poor Texas! My daughter desperately needs it too. ENJOY yours. HUGS

Goodness Judy I didn't know you were experiencing so much rain. We have had quite a bit here in the UK but no where near that much. Looks like you still had a good family time (yes I did notice the coffee pot:) )
Hope you get some dry weather soon!

Judy.. .that is just terrible. It is so hard to imagine it and yet I can. We had such lovely weather when we were there and now this. I hope you see some much needed sunshine soon. I had to think of the farmers we saw mowing their fields with the corn waiting. I hope this won't ruin their harvests.

After having one of the wettest and coolest spring/summer's on record...we have enjoyed the most gorgeous weather these past few weeks. So sorry to hear of your heavy rains and flooding!

What a fabulous roost upon which to watch the falling rain. That porch sure does get it's many uses, doesn't it! I loved the backwards view of the little guy peering off into the rainy distance.

Summer arrived incredibly late here; but welcomed, none-the-less. Soon our own Fall (& Spring & Summer 2012) rains will descend, and we'll be afloat for a new season. Sure wish I had a porch :)

I do hope the rain will subside soon in your area. I was watching this on the news last night and my heart went out to all who are being affected by it.

Thanks for thinking of us in Texas. I have often observed that we have these times of great need in one part of the country with great overflow in another area.

Wouldn't it be nice if we somehow could pipe your extra water down here or out to California???
