Today I will share a few of my favorite pictures from the last few weeks...

After seeing pictures of our Snow Owl, my dear friend from North Carolina sent me this
picture today.  It is a Barred Owl that is often seen in the trees behind her home.  She was so
happy to get this picture, as the owl was somewhat distracted by her white dogs playing in
the lawn.  There is something majestic about both of these owls.

Speaking of majestic...my uncle sent me this breathtaking picture he captured yesterday.  I
cannot stop staring at it.

On Saturday evening, we sat down to dinner at our friend's lovely dining room table,
with a group of good friends.  The hostess served us delicious salads in mason jars.
What a great idea!  So fresh, and most flavorful and so pretty!

A long time ago, I did a post on our indoor sandboxes.  I want you to know, that the simple,
and inexpensive idea, continues to offer hours of play time, even for the older ones who
visited on Saturday, and the three younger ones who spent the day on Tuesday.  Whether
the boxes are filled with toy cars, or plastic animals, or various kitchen utensils, it seems
to keep their attention.  Although...

When there are more than two children here at one time, I go back to relying on my
vintage looking stove timer.  Yes, most times it is even at their suggestion.  The timer
seems to be the necessary "peace maker" in our small play room happening:)
Perhaps you are thinking, "why wouldn't two children share one box"?  I wonder that
too, but let me tell you, it just does not work, hence the timer.

The little ones are growing up faster than I can blink an eye.   I treasure the moments I can
spend with each one of them.

Thanks for the privilege of sharing my tidbits of joy in the midst of a somewhat
ordinary week.
It means so much to me, that you stop by.

You are such a cute Grammy! And a daring one too.. sandboxes on the carpet? =)

Just a little something from Judy said...

You are right, Anneliese, but I do have a blanket underneath the boxes, and a good vacuum cleaner nearby. This has been a long, cold winter and we look for every possible way to pass the time. I do understand your thoughts though, because they are my thoughts too.

Beautiful photos...The owl is a great shot! The sunset looks like an orange light bulb in the water :-)

Love to see you with your grands..they sure are growing fast!

The time is coming rapidly when I, too, will have an indoor sandbox. Owen turns 2 in June!! That's when I will scour your blog for all of your wonderfully creative ideas to use for my 3 grandchildren!!
