Two huge mixing bowls and my mother's old basin...okay, we were near the bottom of the barrel when it came to fun and creative ways to pass time. Who would have thought that these three items from the kitchen pantry could bring so much fun, and help pass a whole hour?

They fit in them perfectly. They rocked, the swirled, they pushed each other across the carpets. I can't help but wonder what you could be thinking about now? You just wait, it could happen to you.

I never thought when I pulled the basin and mixing bowls out of the pantry in a somewhat desperation mode, that they would find such enjoyment with them.

The little one sure does add lots of fun to each situation.

Just remember my friends, when all else fails, you might want to give this a try if you have a few of these huge containers in your possession.
Their parents picked them up early this evening. Thank you for joining in our fun, and yes, you can be sure I will be scrubbing the bowls with hot, soapy water before using again. I can just hear my mother asking me that question:)

thanks for the tip, when I have the little ones over this weekend I may try it. (I might have to find a little larger bowls tho)

Adorable! Sure looks like they are having fun! My boys use to push their little sister across my kitchen floor in an empty pamper box...we have pictures and video to prove it! So, you don't have to explain anything to me!! ha!ha!

Ah...what fun! When my daughter had her 'kid's boutique' the biggest seller of the toys was something shaped almost like your big bowl in bright colours of plastic. Kids loved them! I wouldn't pack the bowls too far away...you will be needing them again, I'm sure.

Oh I just love it!! Kids always love the toys that aren't toys the most :-)

Who needs expensive toys when Gramma has a better idea.

This is my favorite post. How creative you are. I'm a firm believer in 'simple' toys - they're the best. They inspire creativity which requires thinking rather than mere entertainment.
