In our extended family, the norm has become the "two of them", when
both sets of twins were born, a few years apart.
To both families, this unexpected surprise, was most welcomed, after the shock of the announcement, wore off.

From newborns on, we loved watching each stage of their precious, little lives.

My niece and her husband's dear little "fraternal" twin daughters, and...

...my daughter and son-in-law's "identical" twin sons.

Yesterday, for a brief amount of time, the four of them shared the same playroom, interacting and laughing together.  We would all admit, the lives of twins is so interesting and fun to be a part of.

Robert Louis Stevenson said, "A friend is a present you give yourself."  This would be a good way to
describe their relationship with each other, they always have the gift of a friend nearby.  We are thankful for the gift of "two".

"Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor.
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help."  Ecclesiastes 4: 9 and 10.

Thanks for stopping by.

Isn't it the greatest, hardest, most amazing gift?! I adore our two sets of twins as I know you do! They are so cute!

How amazing is this! They are soo cute. When we were first married the house we rented was a tiny one behind a big one. The landlords lived in the big one. She had raised two sets of twins. Both boy girl sets. Just randomly happened twice to her. What a blessing! My younger sister also has a set. They are 23 now though. But any way you look at it, twins are twice the blessing! Enjoy your day!

So true...everything you said about twins. We see it first hand with our twin granddaughters. When I observe them...I often comment how nice it would be if everyone of us had a twin!

Oh Judy - don't I know it?! I love that my twin sweethearts always have their best buddy around. They still (at age 9) talk about getting married to each other and living together forever as "Sissies" - no boys allowed!

I check in on your blog often always knowing I'll find something warm, homey, and uplifting. You are a blessing, my dear!

It is always so much fun to observe the relationship between twins. Who os us has not wished for one at one time or at least wondered what it would be like?
When I see little ones like that now I just think f all the work, and how parents are hopefuly through the worst of it when they get to be the age of yours. =)

I am still amazed that you can tell your twin grandsons apart. Although I'm sure they have their own little personalities.
The picture of both sets of twins on the couch is so sweet. What a special relationship they must share with one another.
