We gathered in the kitchen yesterday, in the late afternoon.  Let me tell you before you go on, that I did not fall into the category of a traditional, old fashion grandma.  No, I took my containers of ready-to-bake cookies out of the refrigerator.  Peanut butter, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies.  I opened each one and cut off small pieces, placed them on each child's cutting sheet, and showed them how to roll them into tiny balls, then how to slightly flatten them, and to "lightly" sprinkle a bit of cinnamon/sugar mixture on them.  The "lightly" part apparently did not sink in:)  But, they did take the process quite seriously.

Three of them working together peacefully(at least for a few minutes), in the kitchen.
And, yes, that is a wash off tatoo on the little guy's chest.  He was most proud of it, and I am sure he will be proud that it was a bit visible on this picture.

May I please explain, that my Pampered Chef, stone cookies pans are clean, but they are seasoned.  At least that is what the lady said, years ago when I bought them.  I use them so often, as you can tell.

For all of you experienced chefs and bakers out there in blogland, I do hope this post does not make you cringe, or feel sorry for my grandchildren.  Honestly, they do realize from their mother(and sometimes from me) that some women do more than pull tubes of Pillsbury cookie dough out of the refrigerator, when it is time to bake cookies.

We cut the cookies while they were warm, with different sizes and shapes of hearts, then let them cool and get firm.

As you can see, we had a variety.  They kept asking to taste the cookies, and I tried to hold off on their tasting until we completed our project.  Then I told them about, how when I was a little girl(hundreds of years ago:), my mother would have chocolate chip cookies and milk waiting for us after school, every once in a while.  That remains a special memory for me.

Since it is soon Valentine's Day, I made their milk and cookies experience, a bit special.

I stuck a straw through each of the tiny heart cookies and stuck them in the fancy glasses.  I am sure I was more impressed with the look of it, than they were.  For them, it was finally time for tasting the cookies and milk.

Today, just a little something fun for you.
Cookies and milk make everything better in life:)

We placed the rest of the cookies on separate plates and will freeze them until February 14th.

Wishing you some sweet moments on your Friday!

I LOVED this! Such little dolls. And this Grandma over here is impressed when ANY baking is done with little ones, prepared dough or not! ; ) Cutting the cookies into heart shapes was a totally new idea to me, and I loved it. I just might do it too. Enjoy your week-end! HUGS

All those bits and pieces for snacking on between times.

It's been so long since I've visited. I knew I had to come and see you, Judy. So glad I did.

Wishing you a beautiful day.... with all manner of unexpected pleasures.
