It is very early on a summer morning and  I am sitting on the cushioned, wicker settee, my hands holding the first big mug of hot coffee.  Quiet and stillness are everywhere.

I think of my neighbors who are probably still asleep.  I think of each of them and what is on their hearts as they wake up.  What is their story and their set of circumstances that they face today?  I whisper a prayer for each of them.  I pray for my family and friends, the situations that some of them are facing, the known hurtles and the unknown hurtles that will be in their today.

It is the best part of the day in my book.  Me, my coffee, the stillness, and time to talk with God.
The birds are starting to wake up too.  Soon it feels like I am being seranaded with a chorus of birds singing, and I know it is time to get busy with all that is ahead.

It's been a full and somewhat trying week.  Thank you, God, for the stillness of the morning and the quiet moments on my porch, before facing another day.  It is a refreshing way to begin my day.

How about you?  Do you prefer mornings or late evenings on your porch?

I am a morning girl. Up every morning by 4:30...best part of the day.

Though it is beautiful out on the front porch at the moment...I don't usually find my way there in the morning. I should! It sounds like you have found the best way to start the day. Blessings to you on this summer weekend!

I am an early morning gal too. I rise early, have my coffee, greet the day. Go feed my chickens. Say hello to my garden. I love to have a couple of hours before my 5 year old grandson comes bounding in to say Good Morning Gamma!!

Judy that sounds so pleasant. Morning is definitely the time for me to. In our new house, I sit on the patio and watch the birds come in to the pond to drink. :)

Definitely mornings. I began rising early when my children were young in order to have some time alone with God before the days business began. I still cherish that time now that we have no children living in the house. I only have a covered porch though and no special view from there. So I bring my tea back to bed, open the curtains and watch the trees and birds from there ;)Your neighbours and family are blessed to have you to bring them to the Fathers throne room. have a great weekend!

oh me too Judy, mornings for sure, especially mornings when no one else is up yet. It seems to be the time to be quiet and to listen to what God is saying, more than any other for me too.

Your neighbors are going to benefit from your prayers, a good reminder for me to pray for mine. :)

I'm a morning girl, too. Like you, I enjoy the stillness with coffee in hand.

I'm sorry about the "trying" parts. Hopefully this week will be less so. If not, I can think of no one who can navigate them with any greater equilibrium.
