"Then came the first day of the new week. What had transpired over the weekend they knew not. God's great outstretched hand had been at work.
A glorious conquest had been achieved by Christ. It was a victory that would revitalize his men, startle the world, and electrify all His followers in the centuries to come.
But during that dismal weekend Jesus' friends did not know this. They could not see the mighty hand of God at work behind the scenes of their dispair. They did not detect the fact that this, their darkest hour, preceded the most majestic dawn of a new day in all their lives.
The divine events of that weekend rival in majestic mystery those stupendous exchanges which took place at Calvary. They are beyond our human capacity to fully comprehend. It was God moving in enormous power, yet without public fanfare or display.
Mourning turns to joy...inexpressible joy. Doubt and disbelief turn to wondrous assurance. Darkness turns to jubilant delight. He is alive!
This is the real reason for this season. The answer to the question of why we celebrate the Easter holiday.
Tomorrow...Easter Sunday, may you be blessed with someone to share it with. May you be blessed with eyes to see the beauty of new life springing up everywhere...blossoms, flowers, tiny leaves, green grass...all signs of new life. It is all a miracle, and it is all a gift from the One who is alive and working in today's world.

Wonderful, wonderful post for Easter. Amen to all that. So sad that is the way all our religious traditions seem to be taking a backseat. If we keep on presenting these faith tradition to our children and grands, hopefully it will continue to thrive. blessings
