Strawberries Are Here

I look forward to it every year...the homemade sign along the road, announcing that the homegrown strawberries are now for sale. Our Amish neighbors grow the best, sweetest, and biggest fresh strawberries. Yes, it is too early, and too cool for strawberries, but they grow theirs in hot houses. On Saturday I will visit their farm produce stand and buy my first box of the season ....

...and I will make many fun recipes with them. These creations are from my blog, last Spring and early Summer.

Just looking at these pictures makes me anxious for this special time of the year.

How I wish for Amish neighbours...growing strawberries indoors. I've been settling for the ones coming from the south...but they are not quite the same as those picked fresh in season. Your pictures look amazing...and I look forward to your upcoming strawberry creations.

Homegrown strawberries by an Amish neighbor sounds like a little piece of heaven. I stopped at a produce stand today and bought strawberries grown in South Carolina. I was debating on whether to get the half gallon container or a quart. I settled on the quart, but after seeing your beautiful creations I almost wish I had gotten the bigger size. I look forward to seeing what you will do with yours.
