One yellow cake mix, baked in two round cake pans.  Two holes cut in the center of each
one with a large round cookie cutter.

Icing...one instant vanilla pudding mix, one container of Truwhip natural topping,
and a bit of blue food coloring.  To that, add the beloved M&Ms, and some
candles.

All to celebrate a loved little guy, who was celebrating his eighth birthday,
on the 8th of the month.

Brothers and friend are all there to help.
I observed that M&Ms were a hit with the young and the older.

And that a homemade zip line make any celebration more fun.  Now don't worry, it was
built in a sturdy fashion, and it is not high off the ground.  Just in case any of you grandmas
are worried:)  Notice the little guy waiting for his turn.

But for some, there was work to be done, and he had to do it.

As I was observing my daughter's flower garden, a storm was brewing, and suddenly
the party was over.

An hour later, the storm had passed and once again, the sky was ablaze with brilliant color.

Thank you for stopping by, and sharing in my simple, fun celebration.

Good morning, sweet friend! Oh, how pleasant to come by for a visit with you and scroll through your recent posts. Seeing your family enjoying life and each other starts my day in a special way.

I love the #8 birthday cake and the expression on the birthday boy's face :)

I got so excited about the zip line too. I showed John, with excitement, that he might consider adding one for our grandchildren. Can't say he was as enthusiastic as I, but he is thinking about it!

Have a great weekend!

What a fun cake! And I see you have a little left handed grandson, just like I do.

Now that looks like a memorable and super fun birthday party. I love the cake idea. It looks very doable and cute. I'll have to remember that one.
I'm sure the kids must have loved the zip line. What a clever idea.
