Beautiful, fresh, red tomatoes from the neighbor's garden.
Sliced in tiny slices. Drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled lightly with sugar. Refrigerated while waiting to be served on dinner's salad.
My newly discovered way to make bacon. Discovered it on the Dr. Oz show recently, when a pretty young lady shared how she created this "best" way to make bacon. Her idea was patented and has become most popular throughout the country. I wanted to see if it worked for me. She shared on the show that one can buy this product, at any Walmart store, in the microwave oven section of the store, quite inexpensively, I might add. Package looks like this;
Drape bacon over the three bars. Cover with a sheet of paper towel.
Cook in microwave for 5 to 6 minutes(whatever your preference). I like my bacon crunchy.
Remove from the microwave. Pour away fat. Place all the pieces in the dishwasher.
So quick. So simple and so easy.
If bacon is on sale at the grocery store, I may do a container of bacon this way, and keep it in the freezer for future uses.
I admire Abbey as inventor. I admire her parents for pursuing her idea. She has profited greatly from creating this "Makin Bacon" invention years ago. It is definitely the way I will make all my bacon in the future. I thought maybe you might like to try this too.
Thank you for stopping by again today!

I can't imagine anyone out there who doesn't like bacon. What a great idea. We use turkey bacon and I do it on towels in the microwave, but this is a good method. So now I am in the mood for a good homemade BLT for lunch! :)
Good morning, Judy! I have tried all of the methods for cooking bacon and they are all messy, that's for sure. But we do love our bacon. This product seems to do a great job! I just might pick one up. John likes his bacon "crisp" as he calls it. We called it ruined :) I like mine slightly crisp and our Abbey likes hers, "limp".
Cute that the inventor of this product is also named Abbey and with the same spelling.
Great idea--may have to check this out.
We love our bacon too.
:)
Going to make a purchase of the Makin' Bacon maker ASAP. BLT's on horizon for my hubby and I soon!
Nothing like home grown tomatoes and that bacon idea looks great...I will look out for it over here in the UK.
Makin-Bacon is now on my Walmart shopping list. Thanks.
fabulous ides...smart girl! I love the idea of makin a big ole container of it! Thanks for sharing!
While I was away from my computer you have been busy. Your flowers are beautiful, your grandchildren are adorable and I love all the entertaining ideas.
This bacon idea is easy and your bacon is cooked just the way I like it. It's amazing how people come up with their inventions, isn't it.
What a great way to cook bacon. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Judy!
Thank you for your visit!
This looks like such a cool invention! Bacon cooked in the microwave will be so much easier to make, and I like the fact all the fat drips off.
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. It's hard to believe it will soon be mid-August!
Now why has no one thought of this before?
