There are plump blueberries everywhere in this county, and I decided to make one of the amazing
blueberry pies like my mother used to make.  For years she made this pie, and I must admit, I was rarely able to turn down a piece of it's goodness.

So simple, so delicious, and in no time at all, you can have the pie made.

I crushed 2 packages of graham crackers, to make 2 cups of crumbs
Added 2 TB sugar, 1/3 cup of melted butter and a dash of cinnamon.
Stirred together and place in a pie dish or pan.  Press the crumbs firmly into the dish and up the sides.

Take 1~ 3 oz. pkg. of vanilla pudding, 1 tea. vanilla, and 1 and 3/4 cups of milk.  Whip it with a wisk for two minutes.  Let set a bit until thickened.  Pour over cracker crust.

Add 1 can of blueberry pie filling with 1 and 1/4 cups of fresh blueberries.  Stir.  Pour over vanilla pudding layer.

Finally, add whipped cream or Cool Whip to the top of the pie.  If you care to garnish, you can do so like my mother did, and use spearmint leaves and a few berries.

Refrigerate.  Best if made and stored in refrigerator for 24 hours before serving.

This evening I told her that I made her blueberry pie, and she became sentimental as she talked about the many times she made that pie in her lifetime, and that she has not made it for years.  She told me the last time she made it, was for new neighbors that had moved in down the street.  Life is so full of changes.  I am so thankful for the treasured memories that I hold in my heart of her love for cooking and serving dinners.

The sky was so red, and the moon so big, that we all stopped by the cornfield, and stared at it's beauty this evening.

I know life is so busy, demands are many, time is of the essence, but this weekend, I pray that you will find some time to sit on the porch, and enjoy the succulent taste of the fresh, ripe blueberries of the season.  And remember, each day you are creating memories for those near to you.   Who knows, it might just include a memory of one of your special, mouth watering pies.

Your photo of the sky is just beautiful, Judy.
The pie looks delicious and your mother's memories make it even sweeter. As I do like blueberries, I think this is one I need to try :)

Debbie, No the bench and quilt is not on my porch, although I do have one. It is a picture I shared from an old issue of Country Living Magazine. Doesn't it look inviting?

Well Judy this pie looks wonderful.I love all the ingredients especially blueberries. In the UK we aren't able to buy the wonderful pudding mixes and cool whip that you get over there and its a real shame because they are so handy to have in the pantry...although if I had them I would probably use them far too often :)

I've been taking a LOT of time to sit on the porch this summer, Judy. It is such a replenishing joy. It's also a very good place for the Lord to get my attention.
