I read a little book recently, titled "Laughter and Latte".  In the chapter titled "Squiggles of Enjoyment" there was a quote by Hermann Hesse stating that "There are a thousand tiny things from which one can weave a bright necklace of little pleasures for one's life."

The author, Marilyn Meberg, of the short chapter asks, "What are the tiny joys from which you can "weave a bright necklace of pleasure?"

For me, I am sharing a few of those tiny joys from my past week, during my family's visit;

Cousins getting happily reacquainted...

A four year old learning to know his newly acquired uncle...

Watching a little girl relishing in her fun birthday celebration, as she drives her brother's car through the driveway sprinkler...

Me, getting to spend a few quiet moments with another granddaughter...

And the way my front door pots, are now overflowing with blooms...

Tiny, simple joys that truly do add smiles in my busy week.  I feel certain that you could add your own little pleasures that bring you an occasional sqiggle of enjoyment.  I do recommend the inspiring little book "Laughter & Latte".

Those are some very special joys! Love the sweet little cousins getting reacquainted. Looks like a life-long friendship is beginning :)

And the little guy copying his uncle... so cute!

I love stopping by to visit with you!

Love that quote by Hermann Hesse.

Lovely beads you're adding to your necklace!

Sounds like the perfect little pick me up kind of book.

Judy, I have found the more one looks for gems of joy with which to weave, the more one has to work with. Eventually there is enough to weave a whole garment...of praise.

Your short folk sure are cute!

I think the writers got their inspriation for the movie "The Magic of Ordinary Days" at your house.

The simple joys at your house look so very familiar. I take similar delight in such things here, though my simple life isn't quite so elegantly framed. I'd need your hand for that :)

Hugs,
Kathleen
