Our two daughters, best friends for many years, set up a last of the season, afternoon motorcycle ride with their dads. They met together on Sunday afternoon, daughters and dads. We, the mothers met too, although we followed in a car, allowing us lots of time for conversing and picture taking. The weather was perfect!

After riding for a while, we pulled into a little roadside "pretzel hut" for lunch. The food tasted so good and the fall decor suited us just fine.

We, the mothers met at age 16. The dads met around the same time. It's been a long time to be friends. Now years later, our daughters are enjoying some of the same fun adventures that we did back then. How did it happen? How did we become the "older" ones?
I read a quote recently that I liked. It said, "Old friends are the best antiques"(even if they look young like this friend does).

In some aspects, it all seems like yesterday that we were this age. In other ways, it seems like another lifetime ago. Will they be sitting together at a roadside table when they are in their fifties? What will there world be like then?

What a privilege for these girls to have dads to share in this fun event.

And what fun for us as mothers to catch up on each other's lives, sharing, laughing, and relating together through the miles. Because of busy lives, we don't have this opportunity very often.

Through the old covered bridge and back home.
Another memory created, and another week ahead to experience.
Don't forget to vote tomorrow. It is your privilege and duty.
It is your country.

Aww Judy, this is absolutely precious and combined with listening to "because He lives" on your music player just made it all that much more special.

I think you two Mom's are beautiful and I'm sure full of wisdom and what a legacy the two of you and the Dad's have left to the two daughter's as they will probably be sitting some where visiting together in years to come too. Beautiful!

Love you!

What a fun day! Aren't life long friends wonderful? We are still close to friends that we met when we first moved here 34 years ago and others that we have known almost that long. At my Dad's funeral in July, I saw a friend that I have known since third grade. We exchanged email addresses and have been corresponding. That has been a blessing! Thanks for sharing your life long friend with us!
