Simple Touches

A simple favor I created for the Christmas season. Glittery gold Christmas ball from last year, turned upside down, the silver hanger removed, hot glued to a round small mirror(from Michael's), makes a perfect festive vase for faux flowers, or a sprig of holly, or you can add water and a fresh flower. I think a red rose and a sprig of holly would look beautiful in this container.
I added a wire with small clear beads at the top of each container, but that is not necessary to complete the look. There are so many variations to this project. They can be used for table favors or simply for a tiny gift for someone special.

My daughter gave these three lovely green glittery, ornaments to me a month ago. I decided the perfect place to hang them was at my kitchen window. I like the look of the green ribbon holding them at differing lengths.

A few Christmases ago, a dear friend gave me a package with this white wired snowflake, and the tiny red knit gloves tied onto the box. She is so creative and her packages are one of the fun aspects of the holiday. This snowflake and mittens hangs on the cupboard above my stove, and serves as a reminder of her friendship.

I purchased the three glass globes as Lowe's in the lighting department. I thought the delicate gold toned glass would look great on my kitchen table. I set them on my crystal pedestal plate, added votive candles, a gold star ornament in the center, and a strand of faux evergreens with little pinecones. I enjoy burning these candles at our meals. It adds a warm, cozy glow to the kitchen.
A few simple holiday touches from my home to yours. Wishing you an enjoyable Thursday.

Aren't you smart? I think you need your own show on HGTV to show everyone how to do gifts and simple ideas.

You are always a storehouse of good ideas. It's so fun to borrow from you! Wish I had a little something to give in return.

I just love it when you share your creativity with us. What I like best is that they are always beautiful, but not too time consuming or complicated. In other words, even I could do them. LOL.

Your simple touches are always so elegant! I'll just bet the ambiance at your house is suitable for sipping tea, or taking naps; for entertaining friends, or for hosting the famous. Something tells me you can whip up the fabulous in 38 seconds.

I'll have to snap some shots of my own simple touches. The store bought ones are awesome; my own ... not so much. Even so, they make me grin.

Hugs,
Kathleen

You are so creative. I love it. You should write for a design idea magazine. You would be perfect.
