Celebrating The Sweet Ruby Red Fruit Of This Season

This time of the year is brimming full of my favorite ruby red, delicious fruit. Strawberries are everywhere is our county right now. Because of the sweetness, sugar is not needed with these beauties.

This white porcelain dish was a gift to me a few years ago. It has many uses, but filling it with bright red strawberries, is how I like it best. Cream and sugar containers came with it.

Another one of my whipped up summer lunches, is this strawberry and banana smoothie. It is low in calories, healthy and is filling enough to be called "a lunch".

Pour the above into the blender...4 large sliced strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1 small container of Weight Watcher's strawberry shortcake yogurt, 1/2 container of Light and Fit Vanilla yogurt, and 1 nice sized scoop of lt. Cool Whip. Blend thoroughly and pour into a your favorite glass... lunch is served.

We have been enjoying a lot of delicious strawberries too. This smoothie sounds really good and I must give it a try. The porcelain dish is so pretty and looks so nice with the strawberries in it. Also, the glass that your smoothie is in is gorgeous.

I just finished my breakfast fruit bowl...with fresh strawberries...and came to your most appropriate post. Strawberries are a perfect addition for any meal...or snack. Your pic's look wonderful!

I too had strawberries for breakfast on waffles with creamed cheese. They are the most beautiful red I have ever seen, and I love the dish.

Looks almost too pretty to be real. You've inspired me to start saving my strawberries for something like this (instead of eating them as they ripen).

Just love that basket for them...what a treasure.

I love strawberry banana smoothies - and your recipe sounds great!!! I tried to make some strawberry jam last week - and it didn't turn out - ugh! I'm trying again this weekend.

Hi Sweet Friend,

We use similiar items to make smoothies also. I love Strawberry Banana and Strawberry/Mango Smoothies. I usually use fresh fruit, french vanilla fat free yogurt or weight watchers yogurt and fat free milk or I replace the FF milk with sugar free orange sorbet. Mmm good.

Thanks for sharing. I love you and thanks for your encouragement on my blog. I smile the moment I see your blog name come up on my blogger dashboard.

While looking for your Banana bread recipe I had a chance to read some of your old blogs. I have 6 bulging discs in all. 2 in each part of the spine. The lower back is the worst. It is awful. No one knows unless they have been through it. MD's will not refer to chiropractors because chiropractic is considered a natural treatment and that goes against the disease model of western medicine. Everyone has to do what is best for them.

Judy, Thanks for stopping by and leaving me such sweet comments. I honed right in on your strawberry plate? I was gifted one of those too. Sad to say I have it stashed away some where. You have inspired me to find it and put some lovely strawberries in it. What a lovely sight.
