The decorating touches of the season are placed.
The candy dish is full.
The gifts from Christmas past, are placed in full view.
And the ones from Christmas present, grace the side kitchen counter, offering temptation to
everyone who passes by. Gifts from the kitchen of friends are so special!
A coating of snow is on everything, and the sunsets are more spectacular than ever!
Homemade cards are among the gifts of the season. Tiny masterpieces of art from those who
sent them, and real treasures to those who receive them. And yes, there is still "Joy" being
offered to the world, as it was hundreds of years ago in Bethlehem. "Joy to the World"...
the song continues to fill the airwaves in department stores and car radios.
Today, I am more thankful for the message of "Joy to the World", than any
other aspect of this lovely Christmas season.
"Joy to the World"
Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love.
~Isaac Watts
No matter what you are facing, and I know many of you are facing huge hurdles in
daily life, along with the busyness, the time crunches, and the endless decisions
we all are having to make...there is still "Joy to the World".

The snow looks wonderful, I hope we have some in time for Christmas but I'm not sure we will. Thank you for the reminder that celebrating the birth of Christ and the reality that He is to us, certainly does bring Joy to the World.
A very lovely post, Judy.
Everything is looking so pretty and tasty at your house. I have the same ornaments you show in your first photo. They are among my favorites.
Must also tell you how much I am enjoying your pretty wreath once again this year.
JOY to you this holiday season.
