A few interesting lemon facts that I discovered in this past year.
I only share them because I think you may find them interesting too.
I read one time on one of the makeup blogs that I visited, that one of the most recommended beauty
treatments, one that the makeup artist has used over the years and knows it works, is to use lemon
juice and sugar to wash your face.
I can't remember the instructions exactly, but I must tell you I tried it and have been using it for the
last three months, about twice a week.
First I rinse my face with warm water.
I then use the cotton pad drizzled with the lemon juice and sprinkled with sugar and
gently wash my face with it. When completed, I rinse my face with water again,
and finish with my nightly moisturizer.
I only recommend this because I really like the way it leaves my face feeling, every time I do it.
I was hesitant to try it, but like the makeup artist stated, I don't think I will ever stop using this
method.
And then since I had so many extra lemons in my refrigerator, I decided to make some of my
husband's favorite cookies. Here is the recipe I use in case you have extra lemons too.
Thin, crispy, and so very delicious...if you like the taste of lemons:)
I did not have Corn Flakes on hand, so I crumbled Vanilla Special K with almonds instead.
Good substitution!
It has been a busy day with lemons, baking, and keeping some special little guys.
(Sorry for the blurred picture).
Often while keeping these guys, for a special treat I will serve them a bottle of chocolate milk for
an afternoon treat. Grandmas can do that, right?
Hence, I sometimes find myself with an empty container like this one.
Today, I got an idea before I threw it into the recycle bin. I washed it with hot soapy water, dried
it, and then decided to decorate it to use as a container to give away some of the Lemon Butter
Cookies I had just baked. I sprayed some decorative paper with Craft Bond Spray Adhesive. I
covered the front and back of the container with the paper. It adheres perfectly with this. I then
added a big flowered sticker from my craft drawer, and used a ink stamp for the message.
Glued a small faux arrangement onto the lid.
A fun, simple, inexpensive way to give cookies, if you use Nesquik in your home.
I might freeze the filled container until needed, or I might give it away today.
Oh, and one more thing.... I found a website recently that provided tried and true ways to use lemons.
I have tried some of them and find this worth sharing.

Not sure which of these ideas I like more. The cookie container one is just adorable. Somehow I just know to be a neighbor/friend of yours would result in lots of blessings! Cute pic with those grandsons!
We use Nesquick here.. even this Grammy herself drinks it and the grands think it funny but I need calcium too! I could not even continue reading your isntructions on how to decorate that container, but had to scroll down and see! You always come up with such great ways to recycle!
Your lemon cookies sound delicious, Judy, and the container you made to give some of them away as gifts is so delightful! I always have chocolate milk boxes on hand for my grandsons when they visit, but I now might switch to Nesquick chocolate powder!
My sister has a lemon tree in her AZ backyard so I will be sure to also pass the lemon use website on to her! Thanks so much!
You always come up with the best and creative ideas for sharing.
As for the lemon and sugar, if my skin could look as great as yours, well count me in on the "new" face wash! (It even sounds good to eat, guess I'm hungry after looking at your cookies.)
Thank you Christine. What a kind comment!
Fabulous post! I'm going to try those cookies and I love that you re-purposed the container. I may be serving Khloe chocolate milk soon :-)
Hugs!
wow beautiful picture of you & your grandsons!
