I thought you might just want to see what the dessert I made on the last post, looks like when sliced. It seemed like everyone enjoyed this old recipe. It was fun hearing from many of you, who also remember making this in earlier years. It will probably be a long time until I make it again because my husband finds it too tempting.
This afternoon they stayed with me. We painstakingly, and with so much anticipation, wrapped their mother's Christmas gift, the snow globes we made earlier in the month. They wrapped the snow globe in tissue, put it in a box, wrote their names on the box(at least two of them did), and all helped tie the bow.
We talked at length about Christmas secrets, but when their mother came to pick them up, they just could not help themselves.
No...they could not. Before I knew what happened, they handed her the gift and said a hearty "Merry Christmas". Why not? How precious that they just could not wait until Christmas morning. What fun to see her excitement and reaction. They were thrilled!
I guess it is better that could not wait to give, instead of not being able to wait when it comes to opening their gifts. It is better, right?
Meanwhile, these two were happy sitting at the kitchen table eating their yogurt. The holiday season has not phased them at their age, but they will learn soon enough.
Me...I am feeling behind in all that I have to do. I will get it all done, but until then, I am hoping to enjoy the moments of each day.

For the life of me I don't know why you don't weight 263 pounds. There's always something yummy being whipped up at your house. But, come to think of it, having those grands around is probably somewhat aerobic :)
Oh the enthusiasm of children! So precious.
Merriest of days, my friend,
Kathleen
Dear Kathleen,
I do not eat the desserts that I make and in most cases it isn't even a temptation. I do enjoy creating desserts though, and only do it when I am taking them to a dinner, or giving them away. I share the recipes though for two reasons. 1. Just in
case one of the bloggers out there needs a quick, easy dessert that has been tried and liked. 2. I feel that it is has to be a bit more exciting than sharing the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches I make for the little ones:) Believe me, I get plenty of aerobic workouts. Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments.
Oh I love it! Look at those darling children standing around their mom ....all excited.
I love those two little ones...eating yogurt and doing a neat job of it too.
It surely is wonderful being able to share these joys back and forth through blogging.
Thanks for sharing Judy!
What a precious memory you helped to create and the look on your daughters face makes it even more special.
I love these photo's Judy...yes just so exciting for them that they couldn't hold out till Christmas Day. I also love the look on your daughters face...the sheer delight in receiving those wonderful gifts!
I am trying to look past my horrible hair day in this post, but I am having a hard time doing so. Perhaps this is a sweet form of revenge for the 'two different sneakers' post???
No Jeane', it is not revenge for the sneaker episode. I am convinced, that in my "mother eyes", you are always beautiful! Especially when you have the life schedule that you do right now, just the fact that you remembered to brush your hair is a miracle in my book. Happy day! Mom
I am not sure how I missed your last several posts but I am all caught up now. The dessert looks WONDERFUL, but I have no doubt it would be MY head eating most of that, haha. What a wonderful memory you created with your grands. I love it...
Hope you are having a joy filled week! HUGS
Judy, the dessert looks just delicious.
Take all this one step at a time and it will get done....just as you say. I have to remind myself of this all the time.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Barb
Tuesday blessings to you! I loved reading this; oh what joy to see Christmas through the eyes of a child. I think your dessert looks incredible and I would have a hard time not eating it. Your grands are so adorable and you look like you had so much fun! So glad you love Estes like I do; I do believe we are kindred spirits.
Hugs today. Noreen
So precious...that they could not wait to give.
The feeling behind part...I know that feeling well!
