When the muffin recipe is chocked full of raisin bran cereal and chopped apples, I am drawn to it.
When it is a cookbook filled with delicious, tried and true recipes, I am also eager to try them.

Such is the case with these Apple Streusel Muffins in the Mennonite Girls Can Cook Cookbook, page 35.
(or you can find the recipe on their website by clicking HERE).
Beware though, there are lots of good sounding recipes to get lost in at that location!

In fact, the first recipe you will find today, at this location, is "cherry berry on a cloud" recipe.  Oh, my the memories that brought back for me from years ago.  We were at a dinner at our friend's home, and she served this yummy dessert to us.  I remember it well, and have not thought of it for years.

Speaking of delicious recipes...look what I found on the back of the old playing card, last evening.  I did not know that my daughter had included the recipe for her granola on the back of each card.
This is a keeper in my book.

As I was baking the "apple streusel" muffins the other day, I noticed this little guy in the tree outside my kitchen window.  I took this picture through the window and through the screen on the porch.  It was like he posed just for me.  Maybe he smelled the wonderful aroma of freshly baked apples with cinnamon baking in my kitchen:)

Happy Thursday!  Can you believe it is Thursday already?

looks so yummy. and your blog looks amazing (as always). I'm sorry I've been so absent for so long. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, and make time on a regular basis to put my thoughts on paper...it was a routine i treasured, and need to reclaim.

Coming back and looking at your blog is inspiration.
Thanks for still doing what you do so beautifully.

The muffins look great I think I will try them. Squirrel looks cute too I put left over baking out for birds and squirrels and also cereal crumbs from the bottom of the packet that I am not keen on eating.

Your picture of the squirrel is so cute. It does look like he is trying to get a peek at what you are up to in the kitchen. Who can blame him as the muffins look and sound delicious. I do have the cookbook so I will make it a point to try this recipe soon.
The granola also sounds yummy. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Hi there, I can almost smell those muffins-they sound so good. I can't have gluten and still have not gotten used to adjusting recipes but may have to try this.
Love the colors in your trees-so vibrant. I always love visiting you.

I will be busy baking muffins! The granola sounds yummy too!

But first... my UPS man just rang the bell and on my front porch was your wonderful basket of goodies!! I just can't remove the bow for awhile, it's too much fun to have it sitting here to look at and smile over.

Eventually I will untie it and try to put your beautiful cards to good use. I hope the hands that created this lovely gift basket are as blessed as the heart that received it!

Thank you so much to both you and your precious little one who happened to pick my name out of the crock. :)
