We are so thankful this morning for safety through the storm, for our electricity when so many do not have it, for a warm, dry house, when so many do not have that either.
Everything was closed down yesterday, and most things today, also.
Activities in our day included one little girl (and I) making her first batch of cupcakes. She hung in there with me throughout the entire process.
She was happy placing the tiny "eyes" on each cupcake.
She eagerly participated in playing the harmonica and guitar with her Paw paw. A brand new experience for her...which she enthusiastically embraced.
Our son-in-law studied for his upcoming sermon (this Sunday), and appreciated some quiet moments to do so.
Our neice was staying with us since she had a day off from school. Somehow, she studied through all the socializing:)
When we found out we were getting more overnight guests because of the storm, our neice and daughter whipped up some chocolate chip cookies.
After all, what does one do during hurricane warnings?
Another neice and her husband came overnight, and I am sure you have no problem understanding the "why" of it.
Now that we hear all the stories of the devastation that so many experienced and continue to face from Sandy's wrath, we are more grateful than ever for the day we had.
And, no our neice did not deliver her baby last evening. We all continue to wait for that very special little one to arrive.

I'm so glad you all are ok. The news reports are just terrifying. Great that you made a scary time into a party.

Your home looks like such a welcome place of refuge. So glad your power stayed and that you could make the most of the time together. This is what memeories are made of.
BTW I love the chandelier over your kitchen counter.
Looks like a fun party to me---sorry I missed it! Thanks for being so hospitable to those in need---I know two guests who were particularly happy to have such a sweet and relaxing diversion, and we slept better knowing they were in good hands! You are the hostess with the mostess, Judy!
My thoughts were with all my friends on the east coast yesterday as we watched the covergae of the storm for hours yesterday. So glad all is well in your corner! You made many good memories despite the circumstances...it appears...as you opened your home to many.
Oh Judy...I so wondered about all of you there...wondering how you managed. It is so wonderful to be connected to now how things went.
Your home does indeed look like a place to come. I'd love to be stranded in your warm hospitaltiy.
Very happy to hear you and your family are safe. What a special time you all had....despite the storm!
Hugs!
Good to hear that you are doing well.
Nice to spend time with family!
Happy Halloween.
So glad to know that you weathered the storm and are safe and sound.
You sure know how to make the best of an uncertain situation. The picture of you and your granddaughter making cupcakes is so sweet (in more ways than one).
Your niece is so pretty and has the cutest little "baby bump."
Bless the Lord! You've been on my mind all week; my prayers, too. I should have known you'd find a way to make a picnic out of the storm. Looks like your entire family knows where to go for "shelter". Just think of the memories those little ones are amassing. Precious.
