I so enjoy visiting blogs and seeing the interesting and creative touches you all add to your homes, in the fall of the year.
The colors, textures, lights, and smells add a cozy and warm feeling to the season.
Last evening I captured a few of the fall accents I added to our home, simple though they may be.
This old lantern I hung by the entranceway at the front porch. I added some branches with orange berries, some fall leaves and a pillar battery operated candle with a timer.
I like the warmth that it exudes in welcoming family and friends.
I added a pot of yellow mums in the old clay pot, and a fall colored ribbon, on the front porch.
More branches of berries and fall leaves were added to the glass apothocary punch server, on the table at the bottom of the living room stairs.
I love to core and bake apples at this time of the year. I don't use a recipe, I just mix brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped walnuts and a few little pieces of butter, and stuff it into the cored apple. I cover with foil, and.bake in the oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Our home smells wonderful and the apples taste so good, especially when served with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Our kitchen table centerpiece.
The pumpkin faced ghord made into a lantern, returns to sit on my
island, offering his happy smile to all who enter our kitchen.
Just a few of the festive sights and smells I added to our home, in this my favorite time of the year.
Hoping you have some moments to take in the fall beauty this weekend.

Good morning, Judy! Such a lovely and cozy home you have. The autumn vignettes are so perfect. The baked apples look scrumptious!
Good morning! Honestly, I don't know which of these I like best! I love the lantern with the candle on a timer. What a good idea! The mums are gorgeous, and the apples looks so good I can almost smell them. Enjoy the season, I know I do. : )
Your home is looking so warm and welcoming. I love baked apples and you have jusr reminded me to make them very soon!
I know I can always count on a warm & cozy feeling when I drop by, Judy. Fall is my favorite of all seasons, and I love the way you do justice to it's many & varied aspects.
Now, if I could just come and go and NOT be hungry ... :)
Hugs,
Kathleen
All beautiful and I can smell the apples baking! Jeff asked if I could do that for him??? I will try! Especially liked the jack o lantern and he is much like the one we have!!! (a gift from a special friend a couple of years ago)!
You've reminded me to bake some apples! I made my first pumpkin pie last night and have potted mums and pumpkins on tables. Knew I was forgetting an autumn treasure...the smell of apples baking is it!
It's a cool, gray day here today. As I read through your post I was thinking how comforting it would be at your house today with all of the pretty fall touches and cozy little lights. The smell of baking apples would be so nice too. Next time I'm at the grocery store I will be picking up some apples to bake. That just looks so delicious.
Here in Cambodia I am missing the sights and smells of fall the most . . .
It looks so beautiful and inviting, I love Mr.Pumpkin with his big smile. I was just saying to my hubby it's getting to be baked apple time!
Thanks for sharing it with us, I'm inspied to add a few more pumpkins!
Beautiful! I love the idea of decorating inside a glass punch server. I'm taking note.
