I held him, my nephew, as a newborn baby. I watched him grow up, and excel in everything he did. I marveled at how many friends he had and how they were so loyal to him.
I was there when he graduated from West Point with honors.
I must admit to the pride that I felt that day, for all that he had accomplished.
I was there for his wedding and was not at all surprised, when he married a beautiful, caring young woman.
A few weeks ago, God blessed him and his lovely wife with a precious little girl.
Last week, he hugged and kissed his wife and newborn daughter, good bye, and left for his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Tonight my thoughts and prayers are with him, his wife, his little girl, and his family.
I appreciate more deeply those who serve our country, to provide freedom for us.
I appreciate every one of the men and women in this country who make this huge sacrifice for my freedom.
This is what resonates from my heart tonight.
Thanks for stopping by.

He looks so young. I will pray for him too, and his family and for you.
Oh, I can't even imagine what that must feel like...to leave a wife and new baby behind. I too will pray for him and his family as I think of them.
So much for a young family to process. It is a sacrifice I can't imagine. I will pray for this young man too.
I too...THANK him for ALL he's doing for our country.
What a precious...precious.....picture.
Have a wonderful week my friend.
Oh..may the Lord watch over him and keep him safe, and may the time pass swiftly for his little family as well. I too deeply appreciate our armed forces and all they and their families sacrifice. Praying!
I will be praying for your nephew, that God keep him safe. Praying for his wife as this will be a difficult time for her.
Our youngest son served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. It was a praying time to say the least. Thankful he returned to us and his little family. Happy to have him state side for a time!
Thanks for the opportunity to pray for another protecting us!
Hugs!!!
Such an amazing photo of your nephew and baby.
Oh gosh, that picture just tore at my heartstrings. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for this young family to have to be separated from one another. That is a very big sacrifice for them to make and it makes me appreciate our service men and women even more.
I will keep them in my prayers.
Oh I just add my prayers for this young family too! Dear Lord, let your angels encamp around about him and keep him in all his ways.
Let Psalm 91 be his word from You, Father!
Hugs to you too.......
May God protect him and his family. I hope that they all do well and he gets a lot of photo's of those ever changing days that he will not be here at home to see. Such a sacrifice. Very tough times....been there.
Prayers and blessings for this young family.

When I look at soldiers, I see very young people who want to help our country be it's best.
My heart goes out to your nephew and his young family. I know he is well supported from the home front.
Praying for him and his family that God will keep him in His care.

Wow. I can still remember him as a little rambunctious kid running around at church. :) Not so little anymore. Thinking of him and his family! Powerful Post!
