Saturday morning we took two of our granddaughters to a horse show.  It was held in a gorgeous, country farm.  It seemed like the perfect thing to do on a Saturday, and they were so excited.

They immediately took to the horses, like they would have grown up with them, and believe it or not, he seemed to take to them too.

The gardens at the farm were well manicured and beautifully colored flowers filled the many beds.

I was struck by the beauty of the white wooden arbor with abundant purple blooms.

The owner of the farm grows roses as one of his hobbies, and the rose gardens at this place were exceptional!  Another white arbor caught our attention with the bright red, fragrant roses growing up over it.

We walked down to the river on the farm.  The girls loved throwing stones in the water and collecting shells.

Horses and owners relaxed under the big shade trees.  What an interesting world those involved in the world of horses, live.  Horse shows and competitions are a normal part of their lives.  For the two little girls, it was a whole new experience.

It was a fun, relaxing, morning on the farm, and one they won't forget for a long time.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and for spending time sharing in our horse show "adventure".

This seems like such a fun way to spend time together with your granddaughters. The horse farm looks like a pretty and peaceful place to be.
Your photo of the rose on the arbor with the blue sky in the background is so pretty.
Also, your new blog look is lovely. You did a great job of matching the header picture to the background.

I guess you have seen the movie, Secretariat? That's what you reminded me of as I read this post.
