Applauding Two Major Accomplishments

He is celebrating his 80th birthday, and to do so he threw a birthday bash for all of his family and close friends(which by the way, he has many). She took on the huge task of creating all of the desserts herself, including his birthday cake, because of the love for her grandpa and because of her joy in baking and creating. She is my neice, and I must admit, I am so proud of her accomplishment in this major endeavor.

This cake was baked in two large cake pans from her grandma's collection. She is a very fortunate young lady in that she has two grandmas who were known for their cooking, baking and entertaining skills.

Angel food cakes and chocolate cakes with peanut butter icing and chopped Reese's peanut butter cups...her grandpa's favorite desserts. She baked and decorated each one. I cannot imagine the time, skill, and energy that was needed for this task. She mastered it...he proudly shared it at his birthday party last evening. She would like to open a restaurant someday in the future. If you ask me, she is well on her way. Congratulations dear neice and happy 80th birthday to your handsome grandpa!

Happy 80th Birthday to Grandpa!!! He looks fantastic! I pray good health and many long years for him here with his family and congratulations to your beautiful niece on doing such a caring and beautiful gift(s).

I am CERTAIN that she will have her own place one day. Lord, let it be near me (smile).

I am so not surprised by this Judy because anyone who is connected to YOU and your family are obviously generous and gifted people in God's grace.

I'm so honored to know you and to call you friend even if it's online.

Love you.

Oh how incredibly special. My sis in law. .bake all the chiffon cakes for her wedding reception. It is interesting how much more I remember that detail from 35 years ago than most of the cakes I've eaten at weddings since.
OH. .I nearly forgot. . .My dil's mom and I baked all the coconut cakes for centerpieces for all the tables at her reception too.

Wow! Happy 80th and what a dessert feast! Your niece is well on her way to owning her place if she can do all that! My mom always made my angel food birthday cakes with what's called butter brickle icing. It's a brown sugar frosting. Yum!!! I'd probably like the reese's one too!

Judy...what a neat family you have!
