"A young doctor, his wife, and the three children couldn't find a house to live in so they had to stay in a hotel.
A friend said to the six-year-old girl, "Too bad you have no home."
"Oh, yes we have a home," she replied promptly, "but no house to put it in."
At the end of the day, or whenever it it, I relish the thought of " going home." Would this describe your feelings also? Today was a dismal, rainy day, and as I walked through the back door...I was thrilled to be home.

Truer words were never spoken. When my husband and I were married we received a beautiful wall hanging that read, "A house is made of posts and beams. A home is made of love and dreams." It can be hard sometimes not to get caught up in the posts & beams...but at the end of the day it's the joy inside that makes it so special.
Thanks for your kind words Judy. As one of my other blogging friends said to me...I wish we were neighbors.
Small town America. Home is definitely where your heart is. You make home sound so good too. Blessings

No matter where we go or what we do, walking back into my own home is the very best feeling of all!
Home...where the heart is! We all long for that place we can call home.
I wish you could share some of your rain and dismal weather with us...we need it.
There is no place like home. I would never want to live in a house that wasn't a home. I wish we were neighbors too ♥
I am always captivated by how beautiful small town America is .. .so quaint. In our travels I love to drive slowly down well manicured streets and imagine happy homes.
Our home may be small .. but it is our home. .and I love being here too.
There truly is no place like home. I am so glad you are sharing your uncle's photography talents with us. This small town America photo is so beautiful and the story you told is precious.
HI Judy,
That was eloquently put! Such simple words , but a bold statement indeed! what a wonderful thought at the end of a long day :)!
You have such a beautiful way with words and anytime you stop in to say Hi , I feel like I just had you over for coffee and a pat on the back! Your words and support are some of the nicest I receive, so I just want to say thanks for being such a sweetie! and like Lauren said, I wish we were neighbors too!
Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend and many blessings come your way!
Hugs and gratitude, Cynthia xo
Very true...I think about the people who don't have a roof over their heads and I am so thank-ful for my home..and the love in it!
I'm home. In the earthly sense and it feels good. I can't imagine going home to heaven. Wow!
Beautiful pic and thoughts.
What beautiful words. The structure does not make the home, and sadly there are many who do not understand that. These words were a refreshing reminder of my responsibility as a wife and mother. My children are coming home this weekend, and they have often told me how much they love to come home. As for your niece she looks like a talented young lady, and Grandpa looks 80 years young! Have a wonderful weekend. Jackie
Your posts are wonderful. Truer words are never spoken. My home is my resting comfort loving place. TTFN ~ Marydon
This street brings back childhood memories. Thanks for sharing it and the sentiments about home :)
Hi Judy,
I so enjoyed this. I feel exactly the same way. Whenever my husband and I return home we always say, "It's good to be home" even if we've been out doing something we both enjoy it's still ways good to be home.
Home is where the heart is goes the saying. Home is far more than the place of residency. It's a heart feeling--appreciation for being family and sharing and caring under the same roof together.
Awesome! Thank you for your love and encouragement Judy. I appreciate you.
**Beautiful photo!
What great words....A great post.
I just posted my last Disney post....
Hope you will enjoy it.
Stop by when you have some time.
I love all my new blog friends.
