After The Storm

Out of the blue the storm came, fast and furious it came. Trash cans, and newspapers, were blowing everywhere. Rain...heavy rain and dark clouds interrupted the afternoon calm. A cold front was being ushered in. An hour later, I stepped out onto the screened-in porch and was greeted by this scene. The beauty of it all took my breath away. The stillness of the evening was in direct contrast to the wild storm, just minutes before. I thought about daily life, and how everything can be going along somewhat smoothly...when, suddenly out of the blue, the storm can hit. Most times we can be so unprepared, and unable to even fully comprehend what is taking place around us. Thank God for the precious gift of quiet and beauty that can come, or eventually will come, after the storm...sometimes long after, and sometimes as quickly as it came.

Judy,

As I read this and viewed that beautiful image I thought of Psalm 23rd! A familiar passage of Scripture and as such often taken for granted in being recited in haste but I always invite people to read it again and often, slowly and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your heart.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful post.

Bless you.
