It is early Saturday morning.
I am about to break into singing "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" from the musical "Okalahoma".
A few of the reasons for the song on my heart today;

~  The weather turned much cooler overnight.  Now it feels like Autumn.

~ Today at 11:30am, one of my very favorite cooking shows is on the Food Network.
The "Pioneer Woman Cooks".  Ree Drummond is one talented, down to earth lady.  This show
offers glimpses into her life on the ranch, with cattle, horses, kids, cowboys, and lots of good food.
It has been a highlight of my Saturday mornings recently.  And, speaking of ranches, and all the
    above mentioned subjects...

Today my "cowboy" comes home.  Yes, he has been riding through the wild west on a cattle round-up
this week.  He and his brothers have had a rare opportunity to spend a week together at the ranch where his brother calls home.  They are there specifically for the purpose of participating in rounding up the cattle, that roamed the mountains all summer.
Maybe, I will be able to share some of his pictures of his adventures, with you later.

So, there you have it.  Just a few reasons why I feel like singing, on this Saturday morning.
Hope your Saturday provides you with some reasons to sing, however small those reasons may be.

I'm glad you're so happy with your cooler weather. Next year I'll have to invite you to visit. It is 40 here and it won't climb out of the 50's today. Our color is getting verrrry nice! I envy your husband. When I was younger I had horses. I still love riding but my knees will not let me enjoy it!

Debbie,
I know I am in the minority, but I like cool and cold weather, and always look forward to it.

As for riding horse and bad knees...my husband paid a late night visit to the local drugstore, to buy a knee support. He told me yesterday on the phone, that his knees have not been bothering him. Of course, he is so happy riding that he might say that no matter how they feel:).

Oh, it sounds like lots of reasons to be happy at your house this morning, Judy. What a fun and exciting thing for your husband and his brother to be doing together. I hope you do share pictures of this as it is something I won't be seeing in real life.
Ree's show sounds like the perfect show for you to enjoy as you await your cowboy's return. I have seen it a few times and enjoyed it very much. The recipes, however, don't seem to go along with my low cholesterol diet :(. Darn!!
Keep on singing and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Our weather today is much cooler and I LOVE it. I'm looking forward to some hot spiced cider on the front porch this afternoon.

Dear Happy@Home,
I watched her show today, and I agree with you, her cooking would not work with a low cholesterol diet. In fact, it does not work for our mostly low calorie diet either, but I still enjoy watching her easy going, relaxed style, and her warm spirit. I also enjoy anything to do with a ranching lifestyle. I sometimes wonder if I will end up living on a ranch someday...maybe not. At times though, I would enjoy cooking up some of her amazing looking recipes. Thanks for you kind comments.

Well the weather here in the UK is far from Autumnal. We didn't have a good Summer so now we are really enjoying this sunshine. We don't get the Pioneer Woman on T v here but I do look at her blog and have her recipe book....I love it. What fun for your husband to go riding and rounding up cattle. You will be looking forward to his return. Have a great Sunday!

What a wonderful time for your husband and his brothers! I'm sure you were glad to welcome him back home, Judy.

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a cowgirl like Dale Evans, and I loved the "Hop Along Cassidy" show :) Now I smile because my children live in Colorado and aren't that far from cattle ranches and real cowboys.

I watched Ree's show a few times. I love her big kitchen!
