Yesterday, in the late afternoon sunshine, I stepped out onto my now "mostly empty"
porch.  It was quiet, the sun was streaming in through the screens, and it all felt so peaceful.  I walked over to the far side and stood there in the silence, observing another whole world of events taking place.  The world of the birds was active and bustling.

If you remember from a past post, I mentioned that my mother lives with us.  She takes great care of her birds, feeding them faithfully, every week.  Hence, they are regular visitors to our property.  Most times I am too busy to notice that they are there, but last evening, as I quietly stood there, I was amazed at all that I saw.

Here are a few of the scenes I was able to capture with my trusty Sony camera.

Yes, she provides them with this bowl of water on a daily basis, and they take full advantage of it.  Even the little Chipmunks and the pesty Squirrels drink from it.

It is interesting how they fight for the feeders, and somehow they know when it is their turn and when they need to leave.

The bright red Cardinals and the red berries add a needed touch of color to the landscape.

Quietly, steadily, and in a carefree manner, they carry on with their daily lives.

Of course it all took me back to some verses my mother used to share with me when I was young, from Matthew 6:26 & 27..."Look at the birds!  They don't worry about what to eat-they don't need to sow or reap or store up food-for your Heavenly Father feeds them.  And you are far more valuable to him than they are.  Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?"

Just sharing what spoke to my heart last evening.  Thank you for stopping by.

Oh, one more quote I read yesterday that I thought was worth repeating..."What the catepillar calls the end of the world, the Creator calls a butterfly."

I love to watch the birds! We had so many at our last house with the woods and the pond. So far, we don't have many here but we will have to change that. :)

Precious & peaceful! Those birds teach us so very much. We have a similar school in our backyard, and often I'm struck by how lovely is their birdsong even as conditions on the ground grow bleak.

Loved the first photo, I can see why you would just stand there. Khloe enjoyed the bird photos, we watch them out back daily too.

Hugs!

Your porch looks like a very pretty and peaceful place to be.
As a fellow bird lover, I appreciate the tender loving care your mother shows for these little creatures. I also appreciate the beautiful photos you shared with us today.

Hi there, What a lovely sight to see all the birds visiting your mom's feeders. I love Cardinals, we don't get them here. Actually, I gave up putting food out because Grackles would come kill all the small birds and I hated it. Have a wonderful weekend.
