I am a fan of the winter season.  I am one of a rare minority.  I like the snow and the cold.
This week was an opportunity for me to experience it all...the cold, the snow, and the wind.
There was a brilliant winter sunrise after the overnight snow.  My uncle was out with his camera and he captured the above picture.

Miles up the road I was on my back porch capturing the same exquisite sunrise.  Quiet, still, very cold, the morning began.  I wanted the moments to last.

As we drove that morning, every branch and twig was covered with snow.  The sun added more beauty causing it all to look like it was sprinkled with glitter.  Of course, you know I like glitter too.
Funny thing though, the older I get, the more unsure I am becoming of the fact that I am a fan of winter.  It seems like I just can not get warm lately.  But, my friends...

...it is now a week since my daughter and new son-in-law got married on a cold, snowy winter evening.  As we stood at the door saying good bye to them that evening, we were so cold we could hardly talk...

...but tonight they sent me this from their Jeep thermometer, at their home now in the upper mid western United States.  They know now, what the real cold of winter is.  What a way to start their married lives together:)
I do hope you are staying warm wherever it is you find yourself this Saturday evening.

Oh Judy, I often joke that if it is below 80 it is too cold for me. :) I cannot imagine -16! Beautiful to look at as long as you don't have to go out in it! How many days until summer?

Brrrr!! I love looking at the pics of cold places, but don't think this Southern Belle is cut out for it.

Beautiful snowy pictures! I like winter to...wearing sweaters and sweatshirts, snuggling up to the fire, drinking hot chocolate! But -16 is too cold for me. I bet there is some serious snuggling going on in their house!! :-)

They must be closer to where we are! This is probably the first winter I've really enjoyed. I have so much inside stuff to complete, and if I had to do weekly yard work it would sap my time and strength. So just when will I do this inside work with so many puzzles to do, books to read and movies to watch!

I can SO relate to the cold temps!!:-)

I too...actually LOVE winter! The snow...the cold...the darkness....I'm so thankful we live in a part of the country that offers us 4 amazingly, beautiful seasons.

Now a fan of Winter but with those pictures, I could change my mind.

Your daughter and son-in-law are where they should be, with each other. Cold or warm, rain or shine. I'm happy for them.

Lovely photo's Judy, I love the snow when it comes but am usually happy for it to go again! We lived for many years in the West Country where the weather is milder and we always missed out on snow. Our weather at the moment is damp and chilly...not so much fun. I am sure your daughter and son in law are loving their new married life together!

I love seeing the pictures of the snow. It truly is beautiful. I don't think I could live in it though, I have lived in So. Calif all of my life. But...if I ever want to visit the snow I can drive a few hours to see it.

Chalk me into the pro winter group. Plus as a winter bride I can attest to the joy of snuggling anniversaries. Winter weddings are the best!
(Not that I am saying weddings at other times of the year aren't equally nice...maybe I should just stop talking now...)
