Tomorrow...

...we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary.  Honestly, even stating that
fact sounds old to me.    If you would like, you may browse through these few
"antique relics" that I've included in this post.

The bridal party, with it's lovely aqua and lavender color theme.  My mother's friend was a
florist and she did the beautiful bouquets.  Family and good friends made up the bridal
party, and we are still blessed by their friendships today.

I love each one of these dear girls who are such a special part of my life, and who served as
my bridal party the day of our wedding.

My sister, sister-in-law and cousins, greeted all the guests, with their warm smiles that
day.  I remember choosing this fabric, and the girls had the dresses made:)

The gift receivers were comprised of cousins, high school friends, and my aunt.
I gave the girls this lovely fabric and to have dresses made to suit their tastes.  I wonder
if they are still wearing these dresses today?:)

Our dear family friends were topnotch caterers, and they did a wonderful job of catering
the reception for us, including their own designed ice sculptures.

The wedding cake tasted so good and looked amazing, but I must admit, I
do not remember who did that for us.

We are so thankful for the years we have been given, and for the gift of our three
daughters, our son-in-laws and our precious grandchildren.  Truly, it is all a
gift.

As for the future we face, well, our thoughts on that are
clearly shared by one of our favorite YouTube videos;

Sung by Susan Cox and Alison Krauss.  The song "I Know Who Holds the Future".

Of much greater importance though, than our anniversary, is celebrating Easter tomorrow.
Our risen Savior has made all the difference in our lives.

Happy Easter to each one of you!

I so enjoyed 'paging through' your wedding album! Beautiful pic's! How nice to reflect on that special day as you celebrate your 40th wedding anniversary. Wishing you two a very happy anniversary celebration and many blessings on the journey that lies ahead. Though we don't know what the future may hold...it is such a comfort to know that it is in God's hands. Thank-you for sharing that song!

Blessings to you and your family this Easter. He is risen!

Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. I so enjoyed this walk down memory lane with you. Your wedding photos are so lovely and contain so many warm and happy memories with friends and family. One thing I couldn't help but notice is the spelling of your name on the napkin. Judi with an I. I think maybe I have been spelling it wrong all these years.
At any rate, I wish you both many more happy and healthy years together.

Dear Happy @ Home,
You have been spelling my name correctly. It is "Judy", but for a few years of my life it was "Judi". There is a story to that change, but it would take to long to tell. Now, some still write my name with a "I" and some with a "y". I respond to either one:).

This was especially fun for me as we will be celebrating our 40th in the Fall! It truly is inspiring to see a couple walk through life together in good times and in bad... as you have done. WE, along with you thank the Lord who makes all things possible. May He continue to bless you and your family!
PS your dress was so much like mine. Makes me feel better!
