Our nephew's wedding was on Saturday evening at his parent's home. The weather was beautiful, more than anyone could ask for. The grounds on this old farm were perfectly manicured revealing the hours of time that my SIL and BIL put into the preparation for this special day. We parked in the field by the gorgeous white tent, and were greeted by this old hitching wagon, where the gifts were to be placed.
Butterflies were everywhere among the pink and yellow flowers. An added and unplanned addition to the outdoor beauty of the evening.
A bouquet tied onto an old iron gate and the "Welcome" sign created a sense of the hospitality that awaited us.
The meadow and the pond were the finest wedding backdrop nature could provide. Gone was the rain of the first few days of this past week and the hot, sticky weather that followed it. Instead it was clear, with lots of sun, cooler and a slight breeze...a perfect August evening.
My SIL's artistic touch to the white arch.
Who says you have to carry the ring pillow right side up?
Presenting the new bride and groom after a short and meaningful service given by their brother-in-law as the officiating minister.
Some of the bridesmaids relaxing together after the ceremony. My SIL's carefully planted pink and yellow flowers graced the gardens surrounding the house. A good family friend was the talented florist.
Catching a moment... just the two of them.
My dear SIL and BIL. This was their youngest son's wedding.
Grandma requested this picture of her grandchildren, the ones who were able to attend the wedding. Because of my amateur photography skills, I forgot to remove the white chairs in the meadow.
Inside the white tent, the reception festivities were about to begin. What fun to see my four nephew brothers in their white shirts and ties. They looked so handsome.
Walking through the gate and about to enter the reception tent as the new Mr. and Mrs., this couple could not stop smiling.
The creatively and beautifully decorated tent.
As the sun started to set, the lights of the tent added a glow to this farm meadow. It was a privilege to be part of this lovely event for a special couple. Since I enjoy seeing the wedding pictures shared so often in blogland, I thought you might enjoy seeing the transformation of the grounds that took place at this family wedding Saturday evening.
I took this picture at 5:30pm on Sunday evening. What a difference 24 hours made. We were all so grateful for the gift of a perfect summer evening on Saturday.

This looks like a lovely wedding and what a blessing that the weather was so cooperative.
The wagon where the gifts were placed was such a cute idea. And speaking of cute, that little ring bearer was adorable.
The bride was beautiful and I love the bridesmaids dresses. They almost looked like flowers in the garden as far as the colors go.
Lovely post.

I didn't realize "class" could be passed on and among family members via DNA, but yours sure has it! What a beautiful wedding; and what beautiful touches throughout.
There's just something about weddings that inspire the best in me. Love ... it just doesn't get any better.
Hugs,
Kathleen
Wow, you always get to go to the most beautiful weddings! I must tell you, John is actually correct. It has been 3 years for us! :) I worded my blog incorrectly making it sound like it has been 5 years. I meant to say, it's been two years of friendship followed by 3 years of marriage. (Some days it feels like 10 years just having to endure this house. hehe.)I'm so sorry for the confusion, but I appreciate the sweet wishes! It was a blessing for me to have you both their to celebrate on my day!
Beautiful...from the setting...to the decor...the flowers...the colours...the bride and groom...and the weather!
so beautiful!! How happy the couple looked, and how lovely the tent and flowers were!! Wow and I loved the pic of grandma and the kids!! Congrats! It is always a blessing when the family grows!

Absolutely beautiful Judy! Congratulations to the handsome couple. I'm always so blessed to be able to share in your close-knit beautiful family times through your sharing. Thank you for that!
I love you!
The details - oh my!
Picture perfect in every way.
How beautiful every thing looked! Always get nervous over the possible changes Mother Nature may have in mind.....I see the day was blessed with perfect conditions. What a great start !
Hugs
Hey Judy,
Put that grandkids picture into Picasa, then use the blemish remover to blur the chairs down to green. It will blend them right out of sight! Just keep picking small circles to use and keep re-touching until it is fixed to your satisfaction.
Gorgeous magazine layout worthy wedding!
