Last night as we dropped off my mother-in-law at the retirement home and I saw this little guy propped on a rock in the flower garden. He made me smile as I observed him laying there as though he was watching the comings and the goings of the many cars and people. I thought about all that he sees...the hellos,the good byes, the tears and the smiles of the many visitors. I thought of my daily life and all that it encompasses. It seems at times lately, my mind is on overload with all that I observe and hear from the daily happenings of life around me.
Fresh flowers, experimenting with different containers and photography have a way of lifting my spirits. This winter when the cold winds are blowing, I will resort back to the flower pictures of my summer.

I told you before, that I like bringing in fresh flowers during the summer and choosing containers that I have on hand to display them. You may have tired of my flower and container posts. If that is the case feel free to click onto another blog now.

On the table of my porch throughout the summer season, I enjoy changing the tablescape using old pieces of glassware and flowers from my gardens.

I thought this small sunflower in the tiny, old salt shaker made a pretty presentation...

...as did the red flowers from my pot by the back door, in this old salt shaker.

A daisy and clover in another glass salt shaker.

One week I used my old flea market find glass bowl and floated a rose, some daisies and a few glass bubbles. I placed this on the back of the toilet in my powder room.

It cheers me up with each visit. Do touches of beauty do that for you?

I wish I could share the aroma of the pink rose in this tiny glass vase with you.

More than any flower arrangement could ever do, these precious ones create spirit lifting for me. Their little smiles continue to warm my heart.
Pathway to Happiness
"When we start to count flowers,
we cease to count weeds;
When we start to count blessings,
we cease to count needs;
When we start to count laughter,
we cease to count tears;
When we start to count memories,
we cease to count years."
~from the book, "Whispers of Joy"

Maybe, just maybe this post will lift your spirits today. Your visit has certainly blessed mine.

Thanks for this post Judy, your table displays are so pretty. I love flowers too and would love a porch to put them on. But yes I agree too...your Grandchildren are better than any flower display. I cant believe how much the twins have grown...what cute little faces!!

There is no chance that I will tire of looking at your floral arrangements. In fact, quite the opposite. I find them very inspiring and so pretty. I think I will be keeping my eye out for some crystal salt shakers next time I'm out thrifting. They make the sweetest little arrangements.
Speaking of sweet ~ those 3 little children never fail to bring a smile.
You have a knack for finding perfect poems and quotes to go with your posts. I especially like this one today.
Happy Monday, Judy.

Aww, Judy, the flowers and planters are beautiful BUT THOSE precious little ones steal the show on this post (SMILE)...as they should!

Thank you for always making me smile.

You said something that my own heart resonates with so well:

"It seems at times lately, my mind is on overload with all that I observe and hear from the daily happenings of life around me."

I love you. Said a prayer for you and your family.

You could just post flowers every day and I'd still enjoy your blog, Judy!

If you were closer...I'd get you to come and spruce up each and every room with flowers. You know how to make things look welcoming.

Sweet grands...growing so fast!
