Saturday afternoon...once again time to fill all of my mother's and the little one's great-grandma's bird feeders. Even though he took this job quite seriously, there is always time for a quick smile and a wave to his grandma and sister watching out the upstairs window. I can't help wonder where in life, his congeniality will take him? He has a smile and a friendly word for everyone.

First grandpa does it, then he gets to do it. Notice the two pairs of jeans and black cowboy boots. Don't think for a moment that this is purely coincidental. It is a given whenever they spend time together on Saturdays.

The birds sure do appreciate the full feeders. I counted six varieties feeding around them this morning. Can someone tell me what type of bird the black and white one is?

I also counted five bluejays at the feeders this morning. Hopefully my mother can relax knowing her birds are being treated well while she is away.

I believe that is a female downey woodpecker. The males look the same with the exception of a red spot on the back of their hear. I like your matching 'bird feeders'.

Wondering where you live that you get blue jays coming to bird feeders?

I love when you share about the special and precious relationship between Gpa and Gson. What a treasure. I was looking through pictures this morning in search of a particular pic - these young ones today have a wonderful chronicle because of techno, blogs, etc.... Priceless.

I enjoy feeding the birds, too, Judy. I feel sorry for them in Winter. Your little grand is a sweetie!

It is so cute how your grandson is dressed like grandpa. After being a father to three daughters, this one on one time with his grandson must be very special to your husband.
You have captured some very beautiful photos of the birds. We don't see many bluebirds here, but I think they are lovely to look at. I'm sure your mother will be very pleased to see her feathered friends being cared for so lovingly.

Oh this is so precious especially your little grand baby helping his grand father.

I wish blue jays visited me. I never had bird feeders because I was concerned that it would be a messy site (smile) but those birds are beautiful.

Love and hugs.

Very cute to see them dressed alike. Priceless.

And you have inspired me to go get a bird feeder like your Mom's. What a great photo of the birds eating. They obviously like it too.

What a beautiful post, Judy, I enjoyed every picture and every word! You took some great photos...how did you capture them so well without the birds flying off?

I doubt anyone rolled their eyes or left for another blog!

Thanks for a beautiful reflection on God's creation and on love for your mother!!

blessings and hugs,

marcy
