This week has been quite different for the two of us. My husband took a week off work. Our daughter was visiting her boyfriend and family in the Midwest. Our house was so quiet and purposely planned, our schedules were too. We spent rare together time in front of our fireplace, drinking coffee, talking, laughing and just being quiet. Those who know me well, know that I am a winter person who really relishes time in front of the fireplace.

We visited a lovely country inn for one night. This gas stove was in our room. What a special addition to a guest room, especially while it was snowing outside. Once again I treasured the moments we shared here.

In the old beautifully restored barn that served as a lodge at the Inn, was yet another fireplace that we were privileged to sit in front of. Time...to enjoy, time...to share and time...to relax. How rare this week has proven to be, and yet how thrilled I was for this opportunity. "It isn't the great big pleasures that count the most, it's making a great deal out of the little ones." ~Jean Webster

I have a brilliant idea! How about I wait out my "Y" in front of your fireplace?!!

What a lovely respite. I relish the "just being quiet" moments that show up much like these did in your week.

Glad to know there are winter people among us. (Can't help but think of Narnia)

Blessings,
Kathleen

Can't think of a nicer way to unwind from the busyness of the holidays than spending quiet time in front of a warm fire with your sweetie. The country inn sounds wonderful.

If I close my eyes really, really tight I can almost pretend the EdenPure blowing in my livingroom is really a fireplace. Almost. I like yours better :)
So nice to see you taking a slow pace and enjoying it with the love of your life!

It's so important to take time out of our busy lives and enjoy quiet time with the people we love. With life so hectic it's difficult to find those times and when they come along it makes them even more precious. Your fireplace is beautiful! I hope you have a great weekend ♥
