If you remember, a few weeks ago I shared a post on an "Apples of Gold" event that takes place every other week for a some months in a row, at my sister's cozy and inviting home.  I don't want to repeat my posts, but last evening I had the opportunity to attend one of the sessions for the first time.  The theme of the evening was how to create a Brunch or Breakfast.  My mother was the guest feature.  She was to share her famous egg casserole.  That interested me, because for years she didn't really share her recipe with us.  She would say she doesn't use a recipe, just a little bit of this and that.  You know her kind:)  Well, last evening she shared with the thirty some women, the steps involved in creating her amazing recipe, and along with that we all had the privilege of eating it.  What fun!

My youngest sister was in charge of decorating the table for this session.  The pink tablescape was beautifully done, with pink and yellow tulips, flowered paper plates, napkins, and cups.  The paper flowers used as napkin rings were flowers she created out of muffin papers.  How clever!  She got the idea from the magazine, "Where Women Cook".  I loved how the flowers completed the tablescape.  Each flower had a pin on the back and many of us pinned them on our outfits.

The mentors for the "Apples of Gold" classes are talented women.  I saw their artistic touches everywhere I looked.  Each lady has a certain area of expertise in which they contribute to the teaching sessions.

Here is my mother with three of her delicious hard boiled egg casseroles.  I can't tell you how many years she has been serving this recipe to her family and friends.  She has not made it in the last few years, so it was a real treat to taste it again.  Hopefully, the young mothers in the class will someday be able to make it for their families.  Doesn't she look good in her pink and blue apron?  It is one of my sister-in-law's creations.

Several ladies contributed to making the fresh fruit kabobs.  In assembly line fashion they cut up the fruit and assembled the kabobs.  What an attractive way to serve fruit.

To go along with the brunch theme of the evening and to go along with my mother's egg casserole, I was asked to show how to make my simple "orange tea roll" recipe.  It is also a recipe I have made for many years.  It is a quick, easy, and good recipe to serve.  To dress up the platter a bit, I added some tiny flowers to the rolls.

This beautiful young mother won the evening door prize of homemade baked oatmeal.  It was perfect that she won it since any day now her little baby is due.
My sister captured each one of these pictures.  Her talent at capturing all the special moments is obvious.
I saw for myself just how special these classes were, and how much the young women appreciated the hours of time and care shown by their mentors.

I just love the life you live! I know you have work to do, bills to pay and plenty of stresses, but it just seems like there's always a tea party somewhere. I can just see you in a broad-brimmed hat and white gloves. My mother would have been all over that! Me too :)

What a lovely posting... pretty decorating.... I was surprised to find the same water container that my favorite cafe has in their shop. Your photo looked so inviting... I wanted to get a drink from it.

And the recipe... the egg casserole... sounds so int'resting. Any chance of getting the recipe (even just the idea of what goes into it)?

I have suggested to the ladies at our church about your idea of having a meal for young mums, (you posted it a couple of weeks back) They are all up for it so I will plan it after Easter...thanks for the idea and have a lovely weekend!
