One more item of interest in our visit to see Great-Grandma, was the amazingly created doll house that was on display in the lobby of the village. I think you will like seeing the skillfully done rooms of the house on these pictures. Our Great-Grandma said that it looks like the rooms of the home where she lived as a young girl.
Each room was decorated beautifully. We especially liked all of the lights.
This is the lady who so artistically created the rooms of this doll house. What a talented lady!
Great-Grandma told us that she had a claw foot tub in her house where she lived as a little girl, and a hot water bottle in her bathroom.
We liked the treasure chest at the foot of the bed in the bedroom.
She also told us that in her home, they always had crocheted lace doilies over the back of the sofa and chairs in her living room. Did you have that in your home?
Here is the sewing room. We did not know what a "sewing room" was. Our house does not have one of those:)

As a little girl, I never had a doll house, but my sweet girl had one. We had fun playing together with all the "little" things! The Village looks like a lovely place to live...what a blessing for your special Grandma!
Wow. What an amazing talent!
I always wanted a dollhouse. You'd think with four girls in the house, and with a father that was so skilled with his hands, that would have been among our play things.
Oh well, I did have a wooden pony that daddy made me; and a little table/chairs & hutch. Such simple fare, but I was enchanted for hours.
Thanks for taking me back to some priceless ("idilicyious", security word here) memories.
Hugs,
Kathleen
I love doll houses. I remember how much fun it was to play with them. This one is especially beautiful. I was going to right a post about about the doll house my granddaughter and I had when she was little but it's nothing like this one. Thanks for sharing :>)
I always wanted one of those when I was little. I enjoyed your visit to great grandma. I know it made her day and she will be talking about it for a long time and so will your littles. What a good grandma you are taking three plus at a time!!
Blessings to you! COnnie
I can imagine an older person would have a flood of memories from days past looking into each room. What a warm thought...
My grandmother had the claw tub and a water bottle did indeed hang in the bathroom as well.
I grew up in a home with doilies on the back of a couch or chair as well as on every end table..well, all the tables :-) come to think of it. I have many of those doilies from my childhood, beautifully crocheted by loving hands.
Enjoyed my visit today :-)
hugs
What a special doll house! Someone with a lot of skill, creativity and patience put that together. It has the perfect home now.
What a charming and creative house. It looks exactly like the house I grew up in with my "antique collecting, Victorian inspired mom".
It is so wonderful to have some one who grew upon another era recreate household detail for future generation will know how things really looked, even if this example was probably a house far beyond the means of most people. I am very impressed with the gorgeous details!
This is beautiful!!! I will have to visit with Cindy. I had a small dollhouse for a brief time but wasn't allowed to play with it. :(
Thanks for sharing special moments with Great-Grandma!
Love you!
This is such an exquisite doll house! Just perfect in every way.
My daughter had a nice doll house that my husband made for her and we collected many miniatures through the years. When she left for college I packed it away and I always hope she'll have a daughter one day that I can give it to!
