Fresh tomatoes continue to give me happy tastebuds.

Our friends shared this box of tomatoes. I was not familiar with this breed of tomatoes but they sure tasted good in our salads.

Large, sweet, juicy red tomatoes from our neighbor lady...what a treat!

For many years, as long as I can remember, my mother would serve tomatoes in this way, over the summer. I asked her to do it for me again this summer, because for some reason when I try to create this recipe it just does not taste as delicious as hers does. To me, this is better than candy. She uses mayo, vinegar and sugar. She always served tomatoes this way with corn on the cob...summer food at it's finest in my book.

Last but not least, one of my all time favorite sandwiches. A BLT with lt. mayo and a slice of muenster cheese on what is now our sandwich bread of choice...the new Pepperidge Farms 100 calorie rolls.
It is Tuesday and there is so much to do. Thanks for stopping by.

So now I'm off to find me some of those Pepperidge Farms rolls; but first I want to know how you stay so darn lean with all the fine fare at your house? :)

Blessings for a truly marvelous day,

Kathleen

Hi Judy,
Didn't realize that I hadn't been by for a visit in a while, so I just got caught up. Your family get together at the farm looks like a perfect day from start to finish. What a nice way to enjoy the last of summer!
How lucky to have friends and neighbors that share their tomatoes with you. I was disappointed in my plants this year as they grew very few tomatoes. I think it was just too hot. It's almost lunch time and I'm thinking your sandwich looks most delicious. I am a fan of that type of bread too.
Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Love those tomatoes fresh from the garden...served any which way! And your pear shaped tomatoes look most interesting!

I wonder if those Pepperidge Farm rolls are available here. Must check.

I am getting such a kick out the vast variety of tomatoes being grown and sold in farmers markets here. They are a treat to the eye to see and the palate to taste. Lucky us who have new kinds of tomatoes to enjoy!

I have to try that recipe of your Mothers...I'm curious to say the least. My oldest son has a " Victory " garden and has produced a large number of beautiful red tomatoes....in every shape and size. Nothing like them in stores.

Let you know what I think of the recipe!

Hugs
