Sinking In "Pink"

My first bouquet of the Spring. My pink Peony bushes have just begun to bloom. I always look forward to this time of the year. I do enjoy many different aspects of creating, but I could never begin to create anything this beautiful, this delicate, or that smells this good. Thanks God for creating these perfect" pink" flowers for me in my garden. This year they have an abundance of blooms.

Saturday night was Prom night for my neice...and I think "pink" looks so pretty on her! It is her senior year and I think of how much fun she will have looking back on the pictures of a very special evening.

Draped over a white wicker rocking chair in our bedroom, is this meticulously created "pink" dogwood quilt that my sweet grandma made for my mother, years ago. I enjoy having it in our room, serving as a constant reminder of one very dear lady in my life. I remember her having it in a quilt stand in her living room, and her working tirelessly on it, whenever she had a free moment.

"Pink" just isn't any cuter than this, from a grandma's point of view. Two precious granddaughters on Mother's Day 2009.

Many, many years ago on the farm where my grandparents lived, feed would be delivered on a routine basis. The feed was for the chickens raised on the farm. The feed came in cotton bags made out of colorful fabric, with varied designs. My grandma would sew dresses for my mother out of the empty feed sacks. These pillow are sewn from the saved leftover fabric of the feed sacks from long ago. I am amazed at how nice the fabric looks after so many years. She saved a box of all her leftover feed sacks because they were too pretty to discard. The "pink" on these pillows also serve as a reminder of my wonderful grandma, and all that she taught me in her lifetime.

Beautiful post, mom! I love that quilt...(hint, hint, in the will, hint...)ha! ha! Actually, my very favorite is the red/yellow/green poppy quilt, but that's neither here nor there! I think I'm going to have a strong drink before heading to Wal Mart with the three amigas. (ok, well, maybe I'll skip the strong drink part like usual.).Hope you have a great day!!! If only your readers knew what is coming in 3 short posts from now!!

Love you,

I just love flowers and yours are so beautiful. It's wonderful that you cut them and bring them inside to enjoy for that also helps the plant.
All of your pink things are lovely and to be treasured!

Everything is so 'pretty in pink' over here.

I love pink peonies! I'm hoping to have some peonies in my garden sometime soon...but must wait for a bit yet. The girls all look so sweet in pink. And the heirlooms...they are treasures.

I love all your pink things...beautiful! Those peonies are incredible! My mother-in-law has two of them...a white and a dark pink. I wasn't sure what they were until I saw your photo. Your grandaughters are so precious in their pink. That quilt...wow! I can't believe those feed sacks were so beautiful! I never knew. Your Grandmother obviously took very good care to preserve them. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful goodies with us.

Your niece is so pretty and that dress is absolutely gorgeous and looks perfect on her. The quilt is so special and very pretty. How nice to have that remembrance from your grandmother. Your granddaughters are just adorable and your daughter has me curious about what will be happening in 3 short posts. :-)

Happy Monday to you.

Well, isn't Jeane' a real tease?! Moving my flower beds, yet again, and I miss my peony bushes from a previous residence. I'll be sure to add them to the one I'm currently working on. I can smell them through your pictures. Glad the Lord allows us olfactory memory along with visual. =) Enjoy this beautiful day.

I love pink...and have recently decided to allow myself to wallow in it without apology. Supposedly little girls and old ladies wear and paint their rooms pink.

So go ahead...call me an old lady! I don't care...and actually I have a formal gown that is almost exactly like your nieces dress. My adult children would lock me up if I wore it out of the house, but *someday* I hope grandgirlies will love playing dress up in pink with me!

I remember the feed bags. There were white ones too, our Mom made our underwear out of those. Your niece and grandbabies are beautiful. Thanks for the pictures.

Beautiful...that's all I can say.

Your niece and grandbabies are pretty in pink for sure.

How's your daughter doing carrying her twins while caring for her other babies? My love and prayers to her.
