"A Mother's Care" - Helen Steiner Rice

You mother every living thing
From poodle dogs to birds that sing.
You give a mother's tender care
To marigolds and maidenhair.
You gently nurture tiny seeds
And help fulfill their growing needs.
You pet and pamper pet tomatoes
And fondle onions and potatoes.
All growing things get your attention
And much, much more than I can mention.
You lend your many loving ways
And spread your sunny little rays
Among God's creatures everywhere
And give them all a mother's care.
So on today I salute all mothers,
Because of their care for others.
I wish each and every one of you, whether you happen to be a mother or not, a Happy Mother's Day!
ps. Don't you just love the lipstick kiss on the side of my granddaughter's cheek on the above picture?
