Luci Swindoll wrote a book " I Married Adventure", and in it she writes, "Mother told me once when I wanted to give up on a friendship that wasn't going my way to look at it from the other person's point of view. She said something like, "You can't make people into what you want them to be. People are themselves. They're cut out of their own cloth. Try to think about what you can give them, not what they can give you." That was good advice...
"True friendships are characterized by grace, truth, forgiveness, unselfishness, boundaries, care and love in gigantic and mutual proportion. Although they require hard work and consistency from each party, we enjoy the best of the best in life because when friends come alongside, more light is added to our path. Two are better than one! We lay down our lives for our friends, and they lay down their lives for us, and in the end we all find true life."
How fortunate we are to have the gift of friendships. Reminder to me and to others today, to let those you love and care deeply about, the friends who come alongside of you in this life, know what they mean to you, and how they bless your life.

What a great post Judy. It's all so true. We've always been very aware of friendship because we live hundreds of miles from family. Our friends have become our family in Oklahoma.
Judy, what a wonderful way to view our friendships. I am glad for this reminder today.
Have a great day.
Thank you for that "Friendly" advice. I really appreciate your thoughts. It is a wonderful reminder.
Stay Cozy, Carrie
What inspiration I receive from your blog. I did Thoughtful Thursday today along the same lines. My reflections on a quote from Matt. along with a photo from my meditation corner. Have a blessed rest of the day.
What a wonderful post! I consider you my friend, and even though we live in this bloggy world of ours, I feel a sense of connection :>) I'm so glad I found your blog. Thank you for being the lovely person you are.
Amen!
What a beautiful, meaningful and loving message of grace, care and love indeed!
Friendships are a lot of work because they need to be nurtured but like anything else worth having; they are worth the hard work because the reward is SO MUCH GREATER!
Thank you Judy for I count you among the most precious people in my life. I was showing my husband your message last night about your daughter and Grandchildren.
He said he can tell you are a loving and classy lady. He's so right!
A wonderful message about friendship - you are a special person Judy!! :-)
What a wonderful post! You, my friend bless my life continually with your thoughtfulness, humility and grace. So grateful blogworld has afforded me the chance to cross your path.
Blessings to you,
Tracy
