Joy on Saturday Morning

Saturday morning pancakes for some very special overnight guests...simply whipped up, and fried in the frying pan. A few slices of bacon in the microwave. Added a little butter and some maple syrup.

MawMaw, "what is that on top of the pancake?" MawMaw, "that is a heart cut out of watermellow." Why? Because it says, "I love you!" The little guy's plate with one pancake and one bacon.

The PawPaw's plate with two pancakes and bacon...oh, yes, and a watermellon heart too.

Together they enjoy a rare Saturday morning breakfast, talking nonstop. The two youngest sisters are still asleep.

Cooperating with MawMaw's wishes to use a fork instead of his fingers...quite reluctantly, I might add.

It is going to be a beautiful, sunny day after days of rain. What a joy to watch this day unfold.

A while later, and it is their turn for pancakes(and yes, the tiny watermellon hearts).

Gorgeous summer flowers from the farmer's garden that she brought for me, as a thank you for providing a night out for her husband. I am thrilled with the flowers, but I feel I should have given them to her, for giving us the privilege.

You sold me on your last post with your little butter hearts ♥ I went right out and gota set of minature cookie cutters. Now another great idea! I would have never thought about watermellon. This is so cute! I know my dear little guys would love it. Thanks again for the wonderful tips. I hope you have a lovely day with your hubby and those prescious little grands of yours :>)

That is also one of our favorite things to do. Breakfast with Papaw doing the cooking. (Which he always does at our house.) I would have never thought of the watermelon. I have a heart shaped biscuit and cookie cutter but it is a little bigger than yours, but I can use it. I had never thought of it before. That is definitely one of the many benefits of blogging. Thanks dear girl.

What a precious and peaceful beginning to a new day. I'm a pancake lover from childhood, so you had my attention at once. Now I'm off to fix me some ...

Enjoy that beautiful day!

I feel the same way. Love having my grandbabies and spoiling them like you do. The pancakes and the heart...you sure do know how to make everything special. What a blessing you are to your grandbabies and their parents.

I am SO ON MY WAY for those pancakes!!! My favorite breakfast food but not one that I eat more than once every month or so because I like the real deal and that's fattening for me. Any good tips to decrease the fat intake without losing the delicious flavor? I don't like the "just add water" mix.

Love the photos.

What a sweet post for of what is important in life. I loved you watermellow hearts and the satisfied looks on his little face. You truly are a great inspiration of goodness and yes it truly is a privledge:)
I had 3 of my little grands today for 4 hours and we made lunch together. Little Olivia was taught how to make her own favorite grilled tuna sandwich, when she asked me for one. The others opted for happy face grilled cheese and ham. I cherish these moments.
Thanks for sharing the idea!
