On my heart and in my prayers this morning...

The year...1994

First day of school...

11th grade,
4th grade,
and
1st grade.

I remember it well, as I do every first day of school.  The sadness in my heart as I came to grips with the fact that another summer vacation season had ended.

A new routine has begun.
It all seems so long ago.  At times like another lifetime ago...

...especially when I try to face that fact that the 11th grader in the above picture, is now mother to  these two, who are starting kindergarten today.

How did it all happen so quickly?

Wishing each of you strength for the journey of today, whatever it may hold.

Good morning! Oh I was thinking about the same thing morning! How many "first day of school" days were there over the years? too many to count, and yet they went soo face. Enjoy your day!

Aww, so precious Judy. I understand. I shared similarly on my facebook this morning where I shared photos of my oldest daughter and her two girls who just started KDG and preschool last week.

Our youngest daughter just started her second year of college.

I often ask, where did the time go? and I often say, I was just holding my girls in my arms, then I was holding my grandbabies in my arms and now everyone is growing up so quickly! Does that mean I'm getting old too? (big smile).

Enjoy the changing of the seasons in the lives of your precious family as I am as well. Beautiful memories being created for generation to come I'm sure.

Blessings and I'd love to share a cup of hot tea with you this morning. Shockingly I gave up coffee a year ago January. I can't believe it either :)

That first day of school always seems to be a bittersweet day for we mothers.
Love all of your pictures today. The grandchildren look so cute and happy. I'm wishing them a fun year in kindegarten.

I know just how you feel. I was always sad when the summer holidays came to an end. Our school term starts next week, my daughter is still deciding whether to send the twins to 'big school' or to home school for a year first. I don't think she can bear for them to go full time yet :) Praying for your little guys today (and their mummy)

Oh how I relate! Out oldest granddaughter is about to start her 2nd year of college. Where the years went, I don't know.

I'm so grateful for our 2 year old grandson. There's something about having a baby in the mix that makes the rapidly growing collection a bit more tolerable. I don't feel quite so old, either.

I love your sentiments.

Moms (and Grandmoms) join you in your thoughts about the end summer and the first day of school. Those memories still haunt me, also.

The munchkins in my life start school today. Two in grade 6...two in grade 1. How well I remember their daddies heading back when summer was over. Like you...I ask myself...how did this all happen so quickly?
