Tin can, faux flower arrangements, a piece of fabric from the fabric store over top of a white tablecloth, with white plastic plates and red cups created the tablescape for an important birthday celebration, on Saturday morning.

Our tablescapes now include various shapes of sippy cups, colored plastic spoons and forks, and booster seats.

This is the beautiful birthday girl!
What a privilege it was to celebrate her and the many roles she fulfills in life.

Our middle daughter, son-in-law and little granddaughter were home for the weekend, due to a family wedding.  We were thrilled to have them join in the birthday celebration, and sad to not have our youngest daughter and her husband joining us.

This little one is learning to make the transistion from her quiet, peaceful world to the world of many cousins wanting to dote on her continually.

I go to great lengths to find fun ways to keep these two entertained while sitting in their highchairs, after they are finished eating.  This dollar store purchase worked well.

French toast and sausage was the birthday girl's request for the breakfast menu.

As you can see, the tablescape quickly changes as the breakfast progresses.  Sticky buns served as the birthday cake, and the lit candles lasted all of three seconds, with so many little ones waiting to blow them out.  You have no idea how much work was involved in catching this picture with them still lit:)

Fortunately for each of us, we had three generations in the same kitchen. One more daughter and one more grandma, would have made this picture even more special.

I look forward to sharing pictures of our nephew's beautiful wedding with you, in the next post.  If you enjoy seeing wedding pictures, please stop by.
As for today, I wish you and your family, a wonderful Labor Day!
Thank you for sharing in our family's simple joys.

fantastic post as always Judy. So much fun to have the generations together. I know how it feels when some are absent :( I also know what the table looks like after a few little ones have been eating at it! Looking forward to the wedding photos.

I love the length of your table and the randomness of the chairs. Martha Stewart would be jealous {I know I am}.
