Last November I found this "cheat sheet" for cookies. It was shared in a food magazine, by Rachel Ray. I have used this so often and I can tell you, the cookies always taste so good! Oh, I know you all have so many amazing and out-of-this-world tasting cookies, but these simple, and so quick ideas taste good, without lots of ingredients and when one just does not have lots of time (that is me, my friends)
Here is my version for the Nutty Coconut Drops. I use walnuts, craisins, and white chocolate chips instead of the macadamia nuts, coconut, and white chocolate chips on the paper. The choice is up to you.
I used the Pillsbury Sugar Cookie dough, added 1 teaspoon of vanilla(gives it a more homemade taste), 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup craisins, and 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips. The combinations one can use with this dough are endless.
Stir it all together. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until done.
I use these pretty silver serving trays from the Dollar Store, when I gift them. They cost 1.00 each and they also sell the packages of paper lace doilies in big quanities for 1.00. In no time at all, I have a gift ready to give. Ribbon is from Lowe's Store.
Another idea I often use, for a smaller "thinking of you" type gift. Originally, I got this idea from Martha Stewart. I use this idea, I bake the cookies mentioned above, into bigger round cookies and cool.
I purchase a large package of paper CD envelopes from the office supply store. Whenever I need a little gift(one that costs less than most cards and one you can eat). I bake some large cookies and keep them tightly wrapped in my freezer until I need them.
The sheets of rub-ons I keep in my craft drawer. It is fun to use them to help decorate the envelopes.
Like this one. I use rub-ons, stickers, glitter, or whatever I have on hand. I think this is a simple, fun way to hand out some individual little gifts for all occasions.
The rhinestones are in sticker form and I just added them to the window of the envelope, to add some pizazz to the package.
I also use the rhinestones in sticker form, when I give cards with money as a gift at a wedding. It dresses up the envelope and make it seem more like a package.
Wishing you a memorable weekend and extra time to spend with those you love.

Judy, have you ever thought of compiling your ideas into a book? I think you could!
You could start your own business. Or you could publish a book of "Uncommonly Common Luxuries".
My goodness, girl; you are an undending source of fabulous ideas.
Wish I had one of those BIG cookies right now! Yum.
Hugs,
Kathleen
You need to start your own show :=)
The big cookie idea will be perfect for my co-worker this Christmas. Thanks!
Great ideas! Love the large cookie idea. They look great in the cd window.

As always, I have learned a lot from you today. Your cookie cheat sheet looks like a great way to bake delicious cookies in much less time. That is always a good thing at this time of year.
I think the cookie in the CD envelope is such a cute and clever idea. I can think of many people who this would be perfect for. Thanks so much for sharing these tips today.
I agree with your other commenters ~ you could write a bestselling book sharing your never ending creativity.
Wonderful suggestions again! I am off to a wedding this afternoon...and wish I had 'your rhinestones' on hand to decorate the envelope.
Ever since you posted different projects using rub-on letters...I have looked high and low for rub-on's and have still not found any. Michael's, dollar stores and scrapbooking stores...I've come away empty handed. Any suggestions?
I purchase rub-ons at our Michaels, the AC Moore stores, the local scrapbooking stores and some of the dollar stores. Did you ask at the two craft stores? They are in a different section of the store than stickers and rubber stamps, but our stores have a large selection. Also, there are quite a few places on the internet that sell them. I hope you find them because they are so easy and fun to use.
What a great idea ...using the CD sleeves....only you would think of that!! :-) I'm not a big "fruit cookie" fan, but I love craisins, so I'm thinking I'm gonna try this. Thanks for sharing!
This is the perfect "Thank You:, especially the CD holder. Never would of thought of using that.
Like everyone else...write a book!
