Only a few days left until Christmas 2009 arrives. For me, there are still last minute things to do, some food to cook and a package or two to wrap. This will be my last post until after Christmas. I want to take time to enjoy each and every aspect of this very special time of the year.
This evening, as I was driving home from my busy day, this was the scene ahead of me. Sadly, I almost missed it because my mind was so preoccupied. Suddenly I noticed what a gorgeous sunset was before me. I stopped and captured the beauty on this cold, winter evening.
Christmas cards have always been a wonderful part of my Christmas memories. I keep them displayed for weeks after the holiday is over. Each one means so much to me, and represents special people in my life. Fortunately, my dear SIL helped me and my family capture this picture for our Christmas card this year. No small feat considering we had lots of little ones to keep still and focused, but she is a great photographer and she did it.
This is the way I chose to display our cards this year. I took an old wire gate that was painted white and wired little lights around it. With tiny wooden clothes pins I attached each of them. It blesses my heart to stand and look at each card and picture, some with interesting letters attached.
This plaque was done by an artistic friend of mine, as a gift to me. It looks so nice sitting on my white bookshelf. "Tis the season"...and I want to take this time to say a heartfelt thank you to each of you in blogland. Never would I have imagined that I would be so blessed to meet all my wonderful friends through blogging.
My wish for you is time to reflect, time to enjoy and people to share this holiday with.
Merry Christmas to you!

Lovely family. I like your card holder too!
Thank-you for sharing your Christmas card with us! It's been wonderful getting to know you this past year...and I wish you and your family a most blessed Christmas.
Your family portrait brought tears. In an era of torn marriages and family discord, it represents all that is opposite and good about remaining connected. What a blessing!
I know you'll all enjoy Christmas together; life too. And may 2010 be the gateway to yet even deeper relationships.
Merry Christmas, friend.
Love,
Kathleen
P.S. I loved the winter scene you captured. I'd send one from AZ, but it takes a bit of imagination to see how cactus factor into winter. :)
Merry Christmas Judy! How blessed we are with wonderful families and friends. May God bless you all this year to come.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Judy. You bless us with your sweetness almost daily. Thank you!
Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family, Judy. Your sister captured a great photo of all of you.
It has been wonderful getting to know you through your blog this past year.
Lovely post as always! What a greaty family photo too...you did really well. I know only too well how hard it is to get everyone together and looking in the right direction. The last time we managed it was Sept 08 for our sons wedding. Hopefully it wont be too long before we are all together again. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you. Enjoy your time with family and have a Happy New Year.

I like your Christmas card very much! Your SIl did a wonderful job catching everyone at the right moment. Your card display is very pretty also. I keep my cards in a basket and the basket gets passed around the table on Christmas Eve as everyone visiting enjoys looking through the collection of cards and letters and new photographs, It us such a busy but wonderful time of the year!
A very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a happy healthy new year to you and your beautiful family Judy!
Hugs, Pat

What a great family picture! It is so neat to see how your family has grown to include such special people. I LOVE your idea for Christmas cards. I will have to try something like that next year. Hmmm...I think we have some leftover white lattice in our basement I'll have to dig out! Thanks as always for your beautiful insights, thoughts, and so freely sharing your creativity with all of us. I learned so much from you over the years. Love you & Merry Christmas! ~Jen
